WHATEVER WEDNESDAY 7.11.07

235696308_d70e60c0cf.jpgwelcome to my first edition of WHATEVER WEDNESDAYS…. i love the blogs that have theme days, and i found one recently that created a Q&A posting like this.

so, for those of you who check this blog regularly (shelly, jenny, jenny, lisa, fred, jay, drew – my boyfriend!) and others that might wander in along the way, i wanna create a “get-to-know-you” posting.

The rules:
1. answer the question in the comment before yours (starting with this post)
2. ask another question for the person after your comment
3. the questions can be about WHATEVER
4. well, almost whatever — keep it clean (this is a family-friendly blog people!)
5. just do it… don’t read through everyone else’s comments and then lurk on – no serious blogger likes a lurker…

And I’ll answer the question to the LAST comment on next week’s WHATEVER WEDNESDAY! [insert applause here]

OK?
ok!

For the first commenter: WHAT’S YOUR DREAM JOB, and are you in it right now?

click on the word “comments” to the right of the post heading, and scroll down to see the next question in the last comment! that question is for you!!!

  1. Okay…I’ll take a shot in the dark here b/c I love you!
Dream job = whatever Jesus wants me to do b/c I know that’s the only way He’ll get the glory He deserves and I’ll be content! That’s my first though b/c I’m too inexperienced to know I guess. But for a specific thought, I’d love to pour into women as a woman’s minister, and get to write.
Am I in it right now?? Hmm…I’d call quitting my waitressing job and watching 18 month olds a little far off from that. But hey – I get to practice speaking the ABC’s and pouring knowledge of colors into the women. Does that count!? lol

  2. OHHH!!! I FORGOT! Sorry (Hush – I know you’re laughing). Okay – here’s MY QUESTION TO THE NEXT BLOGGER!

IF YOU HAD TO CHOSE, WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE YOUR HANDS FLAILING UNCONTROLLABLY IN ALL DIRECTIONS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, OR HAVE YOUR SKIN CHANGE COLOR ACCORDING TO THE MOOD YOU IN?
    :)

  3. MY dream job (currently) is exactly what I’m doing…being a Mom and a wife and sometimes getting to write about stuff on the blog…having some quiet in the afternoons and planning fun stuff to do. Praise God for that!

My Question: Who would you want to be a personal assistant for (lving or dead)?

    Good idea Mandy!!
    Blessings on ya, Sister!
    Hiolly

  4. ok I hope to do this right!
My dream job is to study the Word and get paid! he he!
I am serious…this has been the desire of my heart for years. I am just not interested in much else!
I am finishing up some online classes right now which was a matter of prayer this morning because I cant get motivated.
I stay at home with my little sweet heart and we have so much fun! I am so blessed!

    Here is my question:
What are you most passionate about?

Also, as far as the Patriarchs goes…I have done it twice and it is one of my favorites! I am a junkie on these studies. I really need to get a grip. I went to the taping in Baltimore and I am on one of the weeks when she calls the pregnant women on stage. Girl you would have thought I had just made it to the price is right or something…”Jenny, COME on down…you are the next contestant on the Patriarchs!!” My hair was really short then and I had a pink skirt on and jacket.
I will be with you in Spirit on that one! ha ha!
Also, yes I lead bible studies at my church. It is really so they will buy the dvds and I dont have to pay for them so I get to do the studies for free. Just kidding. I have been teaching SS and Bible study for the last 7 years. I love it but I sure never feel qualified. I just love the people that I get to meet and love.
We are doing Daniel for the second time and last night was my favorite video week four about King Neb getting humbled by God. I needed the reminder to continually humble myself and walk in obedience! I hope everyone was listening and that it endures!!
Are u doing the Patriarchs with a group??

  5. Now that’s funny, I didn’t see any comments until I submitted mine…I guess we replied at the same time…so to answer Shelly’s question: I would have my skin change color. How fun would that be! Green, envious. Red…angry. Blue…dreaming, etc…

My question is the same as the comment above…because I’m a lazy girl..I won’t re-write it! Off to rescue a child from her obsession with toilet paper and eating it (10 month old).
    Holly

PS Did you notice that because three of us commented at the same time…we have sort of messed up the flow a little?

  6. yes… LOL – holly! i did notice you three tore into my blog and have totally thrown my process off rhythm! but i am LOVING reading all these crazy answers… SOOOOO MUCH FUN TODAY!

ok: next question is coming from Jenny:
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?

for the next sweet commenter, you get to answer that one and ask another “whatever” question for the next person! :)

  7. I am most passionate about fellowship in all my social circles (whether that be church body, co-workers, neighbors, etc.). I love making people feel comfortable and encouraging them to step out and meet new people!

    Now my question is:
What dessert would you want to have served to you on your birthday?
I noticed that my husband doesn’t like the conventional birthday cake (like myself) so I’m curious to hear what someone else likes. BE SPECIFIC!

  8. Wow, a question I can finally relate to. This is mandy’s husband, Drew, who answers questions like “how do you feel right now?” with “Hungry.” This one is right up my alley.
Mud pie, the way Mom makes it. Oreo cookie crust, chocolate syrup layer, coffee ice cream, chocolate syrup layer, cool Whip, chocolate syrup layer. Happy Birthday to me and back up off my cake.

    My question:
Tell the blogosphere about the longest time you have ever spent in solitude.

  9. Longest time spent in solitude… what a lost art. Well, not very long that’s for sure. I would have to say only a few hours, on average 8 maybe… I like my alone time but I don’t think I use it very well. Normally I read or watch TV or do a craft, cook. I think it would be better spend in meditating on God or thinking deep thoughts :)

Questions: If you could relocate and live anywhere in the world (income and language are not a problem) where would it be and why?

  10. mandy, this is just a hoot!

Okay, where would I relocate if money were not an issue? this is totally off the cuff today but I would say the Island of Cyprus…I have never been to the middle East but anywhere along the Mediterranean is so rich in church history and culture I couldn’t resist living there. Egypt would be my second choice but only if I could convince Zawi Hass (Antiquities Minister)to be my new bff…I’m a nerd, I know.

My question – What Biblical artifact would you be most excited over being found?

  11. Jay Tucker to get more of his infinite wisdom and friendship (oh- and of course, mandy, you’re a close second, he he he).

New Question: What’s the last thing you bought, and was it worth it?

  12. A 12 oz Decaf Vanilla Mocha with a 1/2 scoop vanilla from Dutch Bro’s (huge here in Oregon) Very, very worth it!

    This is fun Mandy!

New Question: Have you ever lied to impress someone?

  13. Alright y’all!!! THAT’S THE END OF THIS WEEK’S WHATEVER WEDNESDAY!!!
Tam, I’ll be answering your question next week…. whew. what a question to be answering: ouch!!!!

Thank you for all your fun responses – that was a BLAST!

So… no more comments/questions ’til next week. K?
