alright. i’ve been tagged – by TWO people – Shelly & Jenny! but, they both said that i don’t have to do this meme twice…. even though its about the Lord!

Here are the rules:

so, i gotta name 5 reasons why i dig Jesus. that’s EASY!

1. because He’s saved me from the pit of hell….seriously.  i found myself in some serious and secret strongholds in college (my college buddies that i’m about to tag will find this surprising – but its true).  yes, i had a huge struggle with my own faith in college, but i also discovered my enormous propensity to SIN and could find no way of escape but through Him. HE is my overcomer!  OH i praise Him and pray that i never forget that He saved me from myself……….
2. He gave me an AMAZING husband. y’all…. my Drew is a picture of Christ to me. you know in Ephesians where Paul tells husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her so she could be presented spotless and without blemish (my paraphrase), my man loves me in a way that removes all the spots and blemishes of my past…… he has been a heavenly eraser for me.  he makes my soul feel beautiful.
3. Jesus gives me birthday presents. really….. it started in college. i’ve never really shared much of this with anyone, bc its totally our thing…. but right around my birthday something absolutely amazing will happen: an answer to prayer, a need met, a surprise, a “where did that come from?” will land in my life…….  and then i remember that He gives me a birthday present each year!  its not something i go looking for, so i’m always surprised when it happens…. but my best friends can attest, i’m an absolute BRAT about birthdays and i LOVE birthday presents! so…. well…. that’s the rest of the story!
4. He’s ALL ABOUT relationships — totally.  He’s so interested in His Body becoming ONE on this earth!  And i LOVE how He works that out in my life with giving me incredible connections with people all over the world.
5. He answers prayers…. for years i’ve prayed that the Lord would give me new songs to sing… i used to write, but that was about ten years ago… and recently i’ve found myself writing songs like crazy…. am i allowed to say that i think He has something to do with that? can i claim that He’s put a new song in my heart?
