Cable Company uses TBN to punish delinquent customers

July 14, 2007 · 11 Comments

ok….. well, at first glance, this is a really really funny piece of news. but, on second thought, its pretty sad that flooding the tv with TBN would be the best way to move cable customers to pay up…….. Ouch - this is a very unfortunate review of Christian Television.

here’s the article @ TomInTheBox’s blog and i first saw it in the MMI Weblog

i’ve just GOTTA ask: what do y’all think about this?? i’d love to hear responses…

Ha! That’s too funny. I think it’s a great idea. They out to even add in some managing finance segments too!

“Managing finance segments” that’s really funny!

I completely agree with you mandy - my husband came across that news yesterday and shared it with me and at first I thought how cool - they can hear the gospel. Then quickly thought, how pathetic and sad that that is the channel the cable company chose to bore the life out of people with to make them pay up asap! yikes!

That’s a clever and funny way to address missing payments - it’s cheaper than cutting service and worse than just cutting it off! They actually have people call them! Maybe the cable company can begin tithing from the thousands they save?!?

So, really, on the one hand, maybe their thinking is that God’s Holy Spirit will work through the programming to convict the hearts of those who have fallen through on their commitment to pay their bill, that their hearts will be touched.

Then, on the other hand, we all know tbn really sucks.
(Can I just be the one to say it? It’s really not very good.)

    Great article to share, Amanda.

LOL! I’m sorry…it’s really funny. And then really sad like you said. The lady with big poofy pink hair - leaves me speechless. Maybe still God can cause all things to work together for good. Who knows???

cable had better watch out…if the viewer’s watch long enough, they may be persuaded to sent their money to Paul and Jan instead…lol somebody’s got to pay for those golden chairs and fake eyelashes…

and i agree with josh on the quality of tbn programming…:p

This is satire. It’s not real, but it is funny.

I’m thinking that would move me to pay pretty quickly! Sad, but oh so true. TBN needs a makeover badly.

Pathetic. Sad. But… effective! :) Heck, I’d pay up if that’s all I got!
