and y’all are the only ones that can answer. y’all – my wild and crazy blog friends – who make me laugh and who i’ve so thoroughly enjoyed getting to know through this strange computer world of blogging. y’all – who lift my faith and share some of your deepest joys and sorrows on your blogs.
y’all…
i’m wondering this because my blog traffic goes NUTS on wednesdays (NOT complaining!)… and i always laugh my butt off reading your crazy answers/questions… and many of you stop by again and again throughout the day to check up on things… and y’all have also begun to watch out for each other and backtrack to answer skipped questions.
i, personally, LOVE it! its like hosting a party on my blog on wednesdays…
but, i gotta ask: why do y’all enjoy WHATEVER WEDNESDAY so much? its a mystery to me!
ps: i’m dying that the last commenter’s question was “Can Drew come out to play yet?” i’ll let him know he’s had a personal invitation to Whatever Wednesdays, and let him speak for himself. LOL
Seriously, you have to ask that question?
For me… Yesterday, I had been up all night with my daughter’s asthma, the alarm went off, started getting ready for work at 5:00 am, fired up the laptop, and sat there knowing that Mandy’s site was going to lift me for the day. Then to find out that I was first!!! ugh!! Then the question was about friendship, the same girl who went to ER with me with my 16 year old daughter, the one who gives me inspiration. Wow.. God reminded me to be thankful. That was yesterday in the a.m.
by the afternoon I was just laughing my butt off!!!
I come to your site to refuel. You are a gas station!!!!
Keep this coming Mandy… refueling is necessary and it’s bibical to laugh!!
For me,
Ministry is stressful and I like a little fun.
I’d love your input on this post!
Mud
I missed yesterday. DERN! I love it because it’s fun and allows me to get to know other bloggers a little more. It always makes me laugh and well as a SAHM .. I need to laugh at more than just my kids
I like random… I can do random. AND it’s funny. AND it’s fun.
By the way, of my 36 years I have spent 24 of them in the south and always wrote “ya’ll.” My husband, who is all Texan, says it’s “y’all.” But I argued that in the south folks do not say “you,” they say “ya.” So what do ya think?
Since we were talking about random…
I like organized chaos! Whatever Wednesdays are that to me. It makes me laugh! I always look forward to all of your posts Mandy…I think you are bright, intelligent, fun, and funny. Sometimes peoples interpretations of anothers’ question really cracks me up too!
mudpuppy: i came & inputted (is that a word?)….
holly smith: its y’all… you’ll find my three page essay on the linguistics on your blog (loved that marriage tip, BTW!).
Ya, what y’all said..
Anyway, you’ve created a place we can have fun and enjoy each other. It’s often in our fun that the true us comes out. We’all can get so serious (in good and bad ways) on our blogs and Whatever Wednesday has become a great outlet for us’all to have a good laugh.
And I for one am looking forward to Drew’s return…
I must confess that I lurk the rest of the days but by Wednesday I need a laugh to get me through the rest of the week.
Cause I just do:) Good enough 4 ya?:) LOL.
Well….as a newcomer to “Whatever Wednesdays”, I find myself just looking forward to the fun! Everyone here seems to be smiling all the time, and like Heather, us SAHM’s need to laugh more!
There’s also the “Mystery Factor” that lures me here. Never knowing what question I might arrive to feel “obligated” to answer. —Kind of like an unwritten code,….you can’t pick and choose the question…you have to answer the one you come upon. –Just hope no one starts asking unmentionables like, “How much do you weigh?”, and “Is your hair the natural color?”, etc. LOL
Happy Thursday Yaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww’ll (We Texans draw it out!
Julie
It is just nice to join in on a little wackiness every once in a while.
It is amazing to me that the things that are popular get lost on me, and the things that are unpopular tend to appeal to me. Go figure!
Apparently I have yet to experience a “Whatever Wednesday”, but I’m looking forward to it now! Surfed in here from Maggie’s blog, and I’m so glad I did! Love your space here!
I was excited to read that you live in MA.
I live in NH… travel to Boston to the Shriner’s Hospital quite a bit with my daughter Jasmine. Always cool to run into someone on the WORLD WIDE web who lives a bit closer to home than most.
Love the music, love the heart behind it… I’ll definitely be linking to you from my blog, and returning here often! Thanks for being such a positive presence for Christ!
Heather C.
I love the “snowball” effect. No one ever knows where the conversation will go. And it’s the routine…I know when and where to show up for some crazy and fun questions.
I like to visit your blog any chance I get but I make a special point to go on wed. I was afraid that you would pick up on that eventually. I can’t exactly explain why I love whatever wednesdays but the song to the show “Cheers” comes to mind. Wow…I think I just gave away my age with that comment. I bet you don’t even know the song to “Cheers”?
Your mom likes Whatever Wednesdays.
Because it’s a mysterodemy.
Seriously… I love mystery and I love comedy, and when you mash up my two favorite things it becomes a super-dooper, jaw-dropping, eye-bugging mysterodemy!
Mysterodemies attract geeks to a blog, like moths to a flame; and I also really like geeks and moths.
It reminds me of those elementary school games like “writing-a-chain-story-where-each-person-fills-in-the-next-line” or “that-silly-paper-thing-with-numbers-colors-and-names-on-it-that-you-stick-your-fingers-into-to-tell-who-your-future-boyfriend-or-girlfriend-is-going-to-be”.
I like to comment on blogs. I understand that some people write posts that are more to be read and not discussed, but I like the interaction. Sometimes people appear to be trying to prompt discussion but there’s just nothing in their post that you can really talk about. Sometimes it’s a risk investing time in reading a post that you then can’t comment on at the end.
Enter Whatev. Wed.
I always know I can drop a comment and join the discussion.
It’s light and fun.
How’d you come up with that?
billy:
i came across a similar day theme at another blogger’s site… it was earlier in the summer & i don’t even remember who it was! but it looked like a fun idea & a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.
and, since then, its worked like a charm! he he!!!
