quick update: my sister-in-law is with a specialist at a famous hospital down south, checking into things… we will know more definitive information today. so far, no news is good news.
inWorship, to answer your last question about drew coming out to play, well… let’s just say that if i were to ask him one.more.time to be a guest writer today, then i could qualify as the MOST nagging seminary wife in all of new england… and that’s a crown i don’t wanna wear! i’m sure you understand……. all i can offer for this grave disappointment is my sincerest apologies.
ok, starter question: since my family has been facing a nightmare this week, what’s the scariest thing that’s ever happened to you?
Easy one. Two years ago I almost died due to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.
My question – a little happier – What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
Cocoa Pebbles.
I love all the chocolate in the morning.
Question…What was the funniest thing that you ever said and didn’t realize it was funny until everyone started laughing?
I don’t know if it was the funniest, but Sunday I was preaching from Hosea and I was talking about Gomer being a prostitute and I kept saying Gomer, Gomer and then I said “Homer” was told by God to marry Gomer. Well we have 2 Homers in our church and everyone started laughing at me.
Question:
What is your favorite Bible personality (not Jesus) and why?
OK, OK, OK. I am here, and I can come out and play!
My reply is that I was giving a bible study to teenage guys about…uh…inappropriate expressions of sexual desire before marriage, while alone….you know what I mean.
I was encouraging them to resist temptation and fight the good fight.
Then I foolishly told them, with strident voice, “Guys, we have to learn how to beat it!”
Bible study over.
OK, I’m probably grounded again. How bout this:
Most embarrassing thing found in your luggage going through the airport security check?
Since there are two questions outstanding now, I guess I will tackle both.
Fav bible personality – has to be David. He wasn’t perfect, he was passionate. And God still used him. That’s how I feel. Not perfect, but passionate.
Airport question – I cannot believe this, but I have actually never had my “stuff” searched in an airport. Guess I look all innocent. Boy have I got them fooled! (Although, I did have to take off my shoes and socks one time!)
Ooops…Hit enter too soon. Here is the next question:
Do you say pop, soda or coke when referring to cardonated soft drinks?
OK I answered and it may have gotten lost…
I will try again…I say soda, but my Dad says “so-dee” and it nearly slays me!
Praying for your Sister in law, Friend. I have been, but have not had time to comment.
How do you respond under pressure?
It all depends on the pressure. If it is pressure to get a project done … I’m game on and actually do better under pressure. If it is pressure in our family from a situation, I tend to worry A LOT! It’s something God is working on me about!
Next Question … If you could tackle one problem in the world today … what would it be and why that problem?
I would tackle the issue of depression. I’ve found that most of my family members, coworkers, and church friends have suffered from it in the past and/or currently suffer from it and are on medication. I’ve never experienced it myself, but it’s awful for all the people I love, and I WANT IT GONE!
How many books have you read this year, and which one was your favorite?
Probably 12. My favorite? “Sex God” by Rob Bell.
What was your favorite subject in school/college and why?
favorite subject = art! because i could get graded for doodling in class, instead of getting in trouble for doodling in other classes.
drew – you are officially grounded – banned – forever disciplined by blogworld “time out”… and, inWorship, you are too – for that matter – you invited this revelry! and now i’m certain that kristiapplesauce will NEVER speak to us again. sigh!!!!!!!!
next question:
would you rather eat soap or dirt? — and you gotta give a great reason why!
I would rather eat soap, because maybe then Mandy will let me back on this thing, if my mouth is washed out. Besides, soap will leave a clean fresh coating on the teeth, and dirt tends to lodge in between your teeth in little particles.
Next question: Best sandwich you ever had? And don’t make it a barely best; this one should be head and shoulders above all other sandwiches, prior and subsequent, with supporting evidence.
Monte Cristo from Bennigan’s is by far and above all the rest for me…it’s sweet, it’s fried and bad for you…which is why it tastes so good!
Now what kind of pickle, if any, with the sandwich–sweet or sour?
HI THERE!!!Finally back from working at the school all day…(relief)
Ummm….I am NOT a pickle in sandwich eater, however I do like the Kosher pickels and eat them by themselves.
What was the most chaotic day you can think of to now?
And Mandy, I tagged you, come to my site:)thought it was a nice idea.
Wow! Most chaotic day? I would have to say the day that we packed all of our things into 8, yes 8 totes…those plastic bin things and got ready to move here and on the way to store them at my Mom’s house we lost one on the freeway. OH MY GOSH! It was so tragic. To realize that you have “lost” 1/8th of your “stuff” and are “forced” to give it up. But you know, it is all relative. We made it through and whatever right? God is God and I do believe that He taught us a lesson that day on surrender.
So next ? would be: What do you have on your burrito at Chipotol or similar burrito restaurant?
I’m a plain Jane when I go to Moes … Joey bag od donuts … with Steak, Rice and queso cheese.
next question … when your world is crashing and has been for a while, God seems far away how do you deal?
I play lots and lots and lots of music!!!
Next: What new cd would you recommend and why?
Man I’ve missed a ton of stuff.
I do have to say that I am very thankful Drew showed up and of course he showed up in a way only he could!!!
What new cd would you recommend and why?
One of my favorite CD’s right now is Jon McLaughlin’s Indiana. It is a piano based album that just sounds incredible. I love his writing and his voice!
For a question…hmmmmmmmm
What is your favorite sushi?
Oooh…spicy tuna roll from Fortune Palace. Yum.
In honor of my husband, where do you keep the ketchup? Fridge or cabinet? Why?
I will jump in, we keep the ketchup in the cabinet until opened and then in the fridge because that is how my Mom did it.
In honor of my hubby and sticking with food, mayonnaise or miracle whip and why?
A: Mayonnaise. Gotta be real.
Q: Last song, album or artist that you listened to simply for the sake of listening to the music? (ie the song was not playing as “background” music)
Third Day – “Time” album (what a great cd)
New Question: toilet paper – fold or scrunch?
I’m definately a scruncher!! LOl
My husband is a wrapper and folder, give me a break you waste TP that way.
Hmmm…
American Idol or Dancing with the Stars?
oops. LOL
Ewww. Neither. I have a pitifully short list of shows I like (Monk, Psych, Frasier and Fox news).
What are your favorite shows?
24!!!!!!!!!!! i mean – Jack Bauer is the MAN! but we don’t actually watch it as a tv show – we watch each season in 3 or 4 days! its madness, but there’s no commercials and NO wait (except to sleep and shower! he he!!!)
new question: what’s your favorite thing about your spouse (i’m working myself up to forgiving drew for his first comment today… sigh. i actually love his sense of humor – most of the time!)
My husband is totally REAL. I love that about him. He admits when he fails, and is brutally honest, even if it’s something I don’t want (but need) to hear. He is totally authentic in his faith, and others are just drawn to him because of it. I wish more Christians were like that.
New question: What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
If I don’t have to walk in the rain(all dressed up), then I am all about just staring at the window and watching the rain fall:)
What is the funniest outfit you have ever put on your pet?
How about the sock we used to put on our cats head to watch him run into walls…
Question:
What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done, trying to impress your peers?
I have never dressed my pet. I have wanted to but the hubs put an end to that thought.
New York City or Hollywood? And why.
New York for sure…great food and great shopping. But Hollywood is so much fun.
What is your dream job?
hey you said a hospital down south is it in tennessee or AL? just wondering. praying
Brent’s Question:
What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done, trying to impress your peers?
Thinking I need to impress my peers. Is that an answer?
Boy & Girl’s Question?
What is your dream job?
Getting paid to watch people fall!
New Question: What would you do and how would you feel if you couldn’t get on a computer for a month?
oh gosh……

i’ve got to answer Tam’s question. ouch. its gonna take some thinkin’ to have an answer for that one……. whew.
this was a FUN WHATEVER WEDNESDAY! totally fun…. brought many many laughs and smiles to my day – thank you for cheering me up!
