WHATEVER WEDNESDAY 9.19.07

quick update: my sister-in-law is with a specialist at a famous hospital down south, checking into things… we will know more definitive information today. so far, no news is good news.

235696308_d70e60c0cf.jpginWorship, to answer your last question about drew coming out to play, well… let’s just say that if i were to ask him one.more.time to be a guest writer today, then i could qualify as the MOST nagging seminary wife in all of new england… and that’s a crown i don’t wanna wear! i’m sure you understand……. all i can offer for this grave disappointment is my sincerest apologies. :(

ok, starter question: since my family has been facing a nightmare this week, what’s the scariest thing that’s ever happened to you?

funny videos!

thanks for the site suggestions yesterday, and for your prayers. it means a lot. :)

so, i sent this video to my brother sunday night – its the perfect clip to get him geared up for all the medical needs his wife is about to deal with. we grew up watching The Cosby Show, and i’ve always remembered this goofy episode. i figured it’d give him a much needed laugh as well!

today they are at one of the leading hospitals in the southeast, doing a PET scan to see if the cancer is anywhere else in her young body.

if nothing more is found, then they’ll hopefully do surgery on wednesday to remove the cancerous rib and adjoining ribs if needed. so we’d all really really appreciate your prayers. today is a day of decision…

oh yeah. here’s the video. hope you find it funny as well!

now its your turn to share a laugh – what’s a funny video you’ve come across lately?

thanks!

a week’s worth of laughs….

i found myself laughing out loud last wednesday as i scrolled through the comments. they are always funny. always. but this wednesday night i needed to laugh more than any of you knew.

tuesday night i’d gotten the kind of phone call no one ever wants to get – especially if they live far away from loved ones. the biopsy showed my sister-in-law had bone cancer.

bone cancer.

not pneumonia.

not a pulled tendon.

not an infection around her rib area.

bone cancer.

she’s 25.

she and my baby brother have only been married 2 1/2 years.

the shock hurt so bad i forgot how to breathe.

or eat.

i found myself thinking: “so this is how it feels…..”

i spent the better part of wednesday in a daze – trying to figure out if i should fly home immediately or wait things out from 1,000 miles away. i cried on the couch with drew. cried on the phone with my daddy. cried on the phone with my mama. and cried after i got off the phone with my brother.

then i laughed with y’all.

your crazy comments were like medicine for my soul – giving me a reason to smile. to hope.

she and my brother are in good spirits right now, better than most of us in the family. and they have incredible hope – knowing that “these things happen for a reason….” they inspire me – i’m so proud of them.

so, this week i wanna laugh every day, not just on our favorite wednesdays… wanna join me?

to start, here’s two of my favorite and most laughable blogs:

i can has cheezburger?

boomama

now its your turn: what are some of your favorite and most laughable blogs??? send me somewhere that’s gonna crack me up!

(i’ll try to rescue all the comments with links from our friendly spam-monster)

  • The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.
  • Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community.
  • Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say “Hell” to someone who doesn’t care much about you.
  • Don’t let worry kill you off – let the Church help.
  • Miss Charlene Mason sang “I will not pass this way again,” giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
  • For those of you who have children and don’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.
  • Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

time for serious blog love for a blog friend.

y’all know my new favorite blog bff kristiapplesauce? she’s the one that absolutely “protested” all the bodily-function talk we were gettin’ into a week or so ago… *cough*cough*inWorship and drew started it*cough*

anyhoo. we worked things out and she agreed to remain my blogging friend.

but it was touch-and-go for a hot second, y’all.

:)

she’s an incredible missionary and i’ve been so so so so so blessed to get to know her through the blog world.

she’s working with an amazing missions organization [Oceans of Mercy] to help the children/people of South Africa that have been so devastated by AIDS/HIV, war, disease, malnutrition, poverty, orphaned, and the like…

SO, the whole point to this post is that they are doing a WAY-COOL fundraiser, teamed up with another blogger (Dustin Bryson of live salty – way cool blog as well!) to sell CHEAP CHEAP but WAY-COOL t-shirts as a fundraiser.

did i mention cheap?

FIVE DOLLARS. y’all. that’s a chick-fil-a meal! only FIVE dollars.

did i explain WAY-COOL t-shirts?

you can order this super-way-cool t-shirt here (moms, your teenager will totally DIG this design… you will thank me around christmas time. hint hint. k?)
