meme: random book quote
this one was from re:Life:
1. Pick up the nearest book ( of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.
OKIE – i’m typing this from the library, so this could be really theological! nearest book = Margaret Catherine Cook’s D.Min. thesis – “Applying factors from preparation and delivery of children’s sermons to a broader worship context in order to enhance the effectiveness of biblical preaching in an intergenerational setting” yes, folks, that IS the title. most theses have monster titles…
p. 123, sentences 5-8 = “Write it out. While the sermon should be told, not read, writing gives focus. Jeungst reminds readers that this sermon is a much a part of the liturgy as other parts of the service and deserves the same careful attention. ‘Writing it down,’ she explains, ‘helps you focus on the main point you wish to make and establishes a clear sense of how that point will be made.’”
Jeungst’s quote taken from: Sharing faith with children, p. 101. there, now all have been given credit and i’m not plagiarizing anything. whew.
