last question was from edfromct: What was the last sacrifice you made?
well, its tuesday night, and i’m typing this up for tomorrow morning. the last sacrifice i made was “Be Thou My Vision.” i just got out of a worship planning meeting with my pastor, where i often have to set aside my “personal” worship desires for the greater good of the congregation – its no big deal – i’ve come to expect it. honestly, there aren’t a ton of songs that we do each week that i’m dying to get to. but worship is NOT about me, right? this week we chopped “Be Thou My Vision” because it wouldn’t fit the overall theme/goal of the service. but, that’s ok. when i’m leading worship, i hardly think about what I want or what I need… my focus is on the congregation. so, i want what’s best for them. happens every Sunday – serving them is my offering to the Lord… my SACRIFICE of praise.
whew! enough of that. alrighty, starter question: are you following any of the compassion bloggers? if so, which one(s)? what do you think of all that?

i am subscribed to anne jackson’s, so i’ve been reading her entries about/from uganda. although i haven’t been following it specifically.
what are your thoughts on the whole compassion-takes-bloggers-to-uganda thing?
As long as it brings more attention to Uganda and the people there and not on us…i think it will be very beneficial!

Staying in! I don’t like the rain at all. In fact, I propose it only rain at night. While we’re all sleeping. The earth gets its needed water and we stay dry outside.

Good question. I think as a Christian…anything we do unto the Lord in obedience in our gifting and calling, it is worship. So although Nordeman may not be considered by “the powers that be” as worship music…I think it is. And I think she is a phenomenal talent too!

A: Cindy Lauper. Kidding, kidding. I would love love love to sing. I don’t care who…I just wish I could sing, carry a note. Something. I actually love the idea of closing my eyes and worshiping without any thoughts of what I sound like. But sad to say, my friends and family have actually nudged me to say that I was singing too loudly or out of tune and infringing on their worship. How sad is that. I know it may sound harsh…but I am really that bad. So you know, if I could sing like me only with talent…that would rock. Literally.

A: I have found librarians to be very helpful. I send every Monday at the library and know them pretty well. If I had a choice it would be more mysterious than annoying.

A: annoying if they don’t know the answer to my question. The other day I went to the library here at GCTS and the guy was not too certain about how I would be able to look at something from the Ockenga Collection. You got any ideas there Mandy?

To clarify, the staff at the GCTS library here are wonderful, wise and helpful. This particular fellow working the evening shift just happened to not know for sure.
