so, as my current gym-life stands, Marc Broussard’s “Home” is the best running song for me… i’m a musician, so i GOTTA run with the rhythm of the music. otherwise i’ll pull my hair out. and that would get ugly real fast.
anyway, i think its at about 92 bpm. (i’m a slow runner, ok. so don’t laugh at me!)…
y’all know of any other songs at 92 bpm???

i’m not musically inclined enough to know that! but i did want to say that i really like marc broussard, too!
alece – another broussard fan???!!! GIRL! i KNEW we’d be blog BFFs. its solidified now!
I like “Victory” by Yolanda Adams. Not sure on the timing, but it seems a good running rhythm.
I also like the remix album by Avalon, a few years old, but I’m a huge Avalon fan. LOVE to hear “Oxygen” while I’m working out. “You are my oxygen, I breathe you in, breathe you out…”
There was a long list of upbeat, workout music posted on Beth Mooore’s site a while back, too. I think it was in December. Might want to scroll through that.
maggie: i was JUST at your blog, too. LOL! i was in on the Beth Moore list a while back… yes – i’ll have to go check back on that list. wish we had some way of digging through 92 bpms, though.
OneRepublic’s “Apologize” would be around that beat…Perhaps a bit slower, actually- but it has a driving beat and you can double time it with your steps.
hmmm…
If you don’t need a driving beat, Jack Johnson would be around your tempo.
also, a song by needtobreath called “we could run away” would be around that time, too.
Kelly Clarkson- since you been gone (might be a bit fast)
eagle eye cherry-save tonight
Black eye peas- let’s get it started
dixie chicks- long time gone (tempo very similiar to Home)
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. I work out to a rythm too- it’s the best way to run, the only way I actually continue putting one foot in front of the other haha.
I run to a lot of Relient K, but it might be a bit fast…it’s really energizing, though.

OH Becca:
you are my new favorite person! girl… your song list rocks. “Apologize” is too slow, but i’ll check out the rest. you gave me a mighty fine list. a mighty fine list indeed!
and, can i just confess, i WILL be running in place when i log into iTunes and test some of these. oh yes i will… but don’t worry, i’ll pull the blinds closed to not scare the neighbors!
Thanks Becca!!!
One of my favorite songs to run to is Thnx for the Memories by Fallout Boy. Also, even though it’s kind of embarrassing to admit, I do like running to Justin Timberlake’s Lovestoned. And anything on TobyMac’s Portable Sounds CD is great running music.
what about that weird song they play at weddings – the chicken dance one or something?
Hi Mandy, thanks for your comment on my blog, I really appreciate it!
tam: do you think it would be productive or counterproductive to run laps around the track like a chicken??? do you?
