OH! Exeter! I miss southern New Hampshire! (sorry for butting in…just that i used to live very near there…and i miss it!!)
So where would I go…um…well I think I would start off with visiting every state that I haven’t lived in, and then go back and re-visit the places I have been. I want to see this country, all of it.
I would love to do a mission somewhere. It’s not something I have ever thought about in depth, but I think I might be up for it.
Of course all the above works, except…I forgot…I have a daughter now and she needs to be grounded and get through school (only 11 more years to go!) so I would be a stay at home mom first, and maybe do the traveling in the summer. Yeah, that’s what it would be: her first..to be there for her and then to be able to do fun stuff like travel too…that’s what I would do if I could quit my job.
Lori: BUTT IN all you want!!!! we like big butts around here. did i just say that?!?
i loved your answer. very nice… and maybe you could take your daughter on the road with you in the summers?
1. Hire a personal trainer and get in AMAZING shape
2. Travel the world
3. Maybe move to Australia. It looks so nice there!
4. Find a church to lead worship at and be able to devote all of my time to it.
Love my job. I’m stayin’. The current pay isn’t all that great, but the rewards are worth it every day! Oh, and you wouldn’t believe the things I get to see!
Christi: drew and i just watched “into the wild” and i kept looking at him with a gleam in my eye and saying: “I wanna be a hippie! don’t you wanna be a hippie??”… slab city rocks.
I would return to England with Phat and enjoy reliving some of our old hangouts…see the things we were too poor to see…take a ferry to Ireland…hop a plane to Europe and ride the Euro-rail to our heart’s content…take a Mediterranean cruise…stop in Isreal to see the place where God has placed His Name forever…fly to Australia, hopefully meet Love…Hawaii..and home (Texas) for a long sleep.
1. Go see a Broadway show with my daughter in New York
2. Go have coffee with my friend in Ottawa and stay for a month.
3. Take my husband back to his favorite place of all time Seychelles.
More in likely, I’ll go out to my back porch and sit on my lounge chair (today is 85 degrees :)) and drink on some Raspberry Iced Tea and read the rest of my book and diddle daddle on my laptop in my writing, or watch the unveiling of MTTV.
It depends on the day, hour and the minute.
If I suddenly became independently wealthy & didn’t need to ‘work’ another day in my life I would:
1. Write & Record Original Worship Music & other music to touch & move hearts…
2. Teach & Train up others to do the same…(start a Worship training school?)
3. Finish writing one of my many half-finished books…likely publish a few under a pseudonym in order to not cause too much friction with #s 1 & 2 above! (some of my writing is a bit freaky)
4. Visit Israel, Greece, Italy, England, & Ireland…
5. Top of the list: enjoy more time with my family!
6. Continue leading others in worship - that’s not ‘work’, that’s a PRIVILEGE!
Once our baby is born here in a few weeks, I plan to quit full-time office work and stay home with him. Then, when my husband and I move to Texas for a ministry position I’m hoping to be able to do some work for them from home or go into the office occasionally.
That set up seems pretty ideal to me right now. Although traveling around the world, gardening and reading good books all day sounds pretty good too.
Yay…God totally led us to do just that. We are living this dream. And let me tell you, it does feel really good to talk to your boss and minister that way to your work-mates about leaving “the American dream” to fulfill what He is calling you to do. They all thought we were crazy, but to walk away from money and insurance and all that a job gives you and live on Faith…it is something I know we will never be able to regret. I seriously encourage you guys to search and seek if God is whispering you to explore your dream…because I know that for Daniel and I, this was always ours…and He fulfilled it and is fulfilling it everyday.
Tammy: i think you have some bitterness issues that need to be resolved. MTTV? still bothering you? wow….. look at it like this: since you “don’t” have a job, what will you do with your time? that can be answered, right?
Ed: drew backpacked through Europe. he’s also climbed that big mountain in Africa. AND fought off a shark with a spear. you’d like him.
as for the appalachian. yeah. the hiking part just ruins it, doesn’t it!
Hmmm… I would definitely travel. And to get to spend more than a week somewhere would be awesome! To be able to take all 4 kids everywhere would be wonderful, so I guess we’d have to homeschool, and hire tutors to help. And being with my kids and husband more would make me feel free to minister since I’m getting to spend time with them other than just evenings.
And to start my OWN tv thing, that Mandy and Tam would be begging to join because it would be so super cool… oh wait… did I say that out loud?
Amy: WOOO HOOOOOO INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay for you! that makes me excited!
Heidi: i knew a family with FOUR kids who homeschooled & one summer went RVing all over the country. AHHHHH! to be like that! plus - tv show? YOU are funny!

If I had to quit my job I’d have to quit my kids….that would be sad. But, just for kicks…I would travel and visit my missionary friends.

In my fantasy world I think of Sweden. That’s mostly because of Swedish women.
If I had more money I would love to see the ancient cultures of Egypt and China, the Hermitage Museum in Russia.
Back packing through Europe was something I thought about but never did.
Hiking the Appalachian was another thing I thought about. The hiking part stopped me.
