that was 350 pages long and had NO pictures in it. yay for alternative-hobbies-explored-during-vacations.
i’m proud of myself. see – this is what i can accomplish when not on the computer. amazing! (granted, this means i’ve accomplished dang-near-nothing since cracking open the lappy on saturday morning.)
now, back to the book. there was a question that one character asks another character that i totally wanted to ask y’all:
what are you most proud of?
can’t wait to hear how you’re a superstar.
me? other than getting married (duh) -i got to sing backup once for Mac Powell (Third Day).

book: “Hunting Unicorns” by Bella Pollen – i triple heart her name.
finishing Bible school, mission trips, my girls
compared to yours…all others with not matter…WOW! i love third day!!!
but i will post one anyways…
being a father…molly is awesome!!!
besides being a mom to my boys….i hiked Mt LeConte in the Smokey Mountains last month. sure it is only 6,562 feet, but it is still quite a haul up there! it felt like an accomplishment standing on top of that mountain watching the sunset!

Being a mom, of course…but other than that, I went to England two weeks after graduating from college and spent a year there working for a church. I worked with the parents of a friend from college, but didn’t know them in advance. It was quite a stretch out of my comfort zone since I never dreamed I would do something like that, but I am SO glad I did. In hindsight, I wish I could go back and do some things differently, but that’s just a maturity thing.
oh I soooo want to read this book…googled it. looks so great. thanks for the tip.
proud – maybe the marathon i ran 5 years ago. maybe. (i soooo could not do it now) or having my girls. or letting God heal my marriage 4 years ago and that we are still married and love each other.
i think that picutre of you singing backup is so cool. =)
Oh no you dih-uh. Mac Powell? Hello. He’s my fave male vocalist.
I did get to sing with Chris Tomlin once when the hubby used to play with him. But, that’s all I got.
My kids bar none. I can’t stop kissing their faces.
BTW: I am meeting my met-on-the-net friend, face to face! Yeah…my husband is going to her state for a business trip and he will be twenty minutes from her house! He’s taking me with him! YAY! I am SO excited!
Besides getting married. I guess it would be coming back from Iraq.
Sarah: warning – sex and language to follow in this book. if it was a movie, it’d be your standard romance comedy date movie.
Cindy: as if you couldn’t go UP ANY HIGHER in my estimation!?!?!
Teri: watch – i’m about to wet my pants. YYYYAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
Brandi: i’m impressed.
PARENTS: this is SOOOOOO totally something to brag about!!! parenting scares the be-jesus outta me…..
Jon: i nearly threw up. i was THAT nervous.
Josh: you come through for me as always.
Danielle: YAY for mission trips.
GI: (like the initials?) wow man. i’d stand in an airport & clap for you.
My kids, having the sense not to let my boyfriend at the time slip away (He’s my hubby now)… and getting my MDiv. Talk about reading…ugh
I can’t think of any one thing that stands out. I have mentored some people who have gone on to successful careers. I have done some volunteer work at shelters and people have thanked me.
I guess the thing I am most proud of is having gone from being a manic-depressive, suicidal teenager to a happy 65 year old who has probably done more good than harm in the world.
ed: yeah. that’s something to be proud of for sure…
cheryl: MDiv, huh? drew is chipping away at his class load right now.
[I have a 10 min break between while my students run to the potty...yes, they're still median age of 30, but still]
So…I don’t have kids, I haven’t hiked a mountain, but hey…I have a friend who sang w/ the dude from Third Day! That’s like 2 degrees to Mac Powell!
most proud of?
honestly. an almost 12 year marriage (and counting).
debra: woo hoo!!! YAY YOU!
cathi: there’s gotta be something better than that.
THAT rocks. (can i have your autograph?)
most proud of? hmmm… that’s a hard one to answer (just like pickin’ favorites!). right now: hiking to the top of pike’s peak.
I’m a nerd. does that count?
[id' rather live vicariously through mandy mac, thank you. *said in the most authentic southern accent I can muster]
what am I most proud of…. hmmm. I’m proud of some of the decisions we’ve made about how to raise our kids. I’m proud of my husband. I’m proud of a few students I’ve had the opportunity to mentor.
But to be completely me-centered… a couple years ago I was asked to be the camp speaker at a week of camp our church’s senior high students attend. The topic: worship. My husband (the youth pastor at the time) and I worked on it together, and I think we created some great stuff. We all learned a lot about worship that week.
Most proud of? Me?
Writing a book. 424 pages. 520 for the revised edition. Took me years. To do both. And my XGF STILL read it in 8 hours. I’m still mad at her for that.
hey..i heard yall sing together!! it was awesome! I’m most proud of my last three years of recovery emootionally speaking…able to walk out with my head held high!
On the ME side, it would have to be winning four Emmys and two Golden Reels for sound editing work. We’re nominated again this year, and keeping our fingers crossed.
On the HIM side, some of the worship bands and mission trips I have been a part of brought much more fulfillment than those awards. God giving me a supermodel for a wife (who is writing novels now), and four great (and sometimes demented) kids.
The ME side keeps me busy and puts food on the table. The HIM side is what makes me really proud and keeps me centered in this town (LA).
Just realized that it sounds like I don’t include God in my work. HE is the reason for any of my (so called) success. HE gets the glory for sure.
Disclaimer over.
Totally heart that guy Mandy. You never told me that you sang with him that song…When the rain comes, I was going to mail it to you, because you support us like that. You are a great friend. For reals.
I dunno what I am “most” proud about…I hope (and I know this might sound really lame) that my biggest accomplishments are still to come. God has given us a way, super cool life thus far, but I don’t want it to be “it”…I want to always live on the edge and see what is over the side of the mountain for us.
Most proud of…hmmmm.
-Married a hot chick
-Learning the rules of football, baseball, basketball, and hockey by myself and enjoying the sports (raised by single mom)
-Taught myself to play guitar/bass
-Played at the Gorge Ampitheater and the Roxy Club in Hollywood.
-Listening to God
I’m proud for knowing You!

<B
Mr.Love: i guess you have the right to be proud of whatever you wanna be proud of!!
RonPai & Mark:shock: you do, DON’T listen to my music… it’ll hurt your ears.
Kristi: i thought you didn’t like CCM (contemporary christian music)??
CHARITY!!!!!!!!!! I HEART YOU!!!!!!! COME SEE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheNor: i read my all-time FAVORITE book in 8 hours. because it was a page-turner. and life-changing.
Kim: LOVED your answer – all four of ‘em.
Cathi: um. if YOU’RE proud of being a nerd, then i guess it counts. i guess…
Alece: he wouldn’t remember me if he saw me.
nerds are sweet and crunchy, meet cathi!
next to spree, that’s my fave candy.
Mac is laughing at you. that is so mean!
mmm, spree.
Tam: am i mac?

I would frame that picture, mural sized, and placed it in my entry-way, just so when people came over, I could be all, “Oh, This?”
Mine? Marathon. Anytime I think I can’t do something, I say to self, “Self? You ran a MARATHON. You can do this.” Good enough, smart enough, yadda yadda.
It actually is framed.
But I’ve never had the guts to hang it. PS: You’ve been digging today
I’ve rocked dived.
Camped in snow igloos
Met Karen Carpenter ~ That was incredible.
That’s all I got.
That’s supposed to be ROCK dived… oopsies!
