so. i’ve got good news and bad news

let’s start with the good news – that way the bad news will make more sense.

THE GOOD NEWS:
i have a new job! i’m now working in the housing office on campus. i even got to spruce up my wardrobe with a few trendy office-assistant items. yay. long-term – the job will be part-time, so i will still have time for all my blogging/ministry addictions. but, temporarily – the job will be full-time… which leads me to:

THE BAD NEWS:

i’ll be working full-time this summer. this means i won’t have as much opportunity to respond to all of you here in my little blog world. and this hurts my heart, because y’all have fast become THAT important to me. we’ve worked hard to establish a chatty little community around here, but my voice will not be as chatty as in times past. i’m sorry. you are more important to me than you will feel over the next three months. and i’ll laugh at your comments more than you’ll know. and i’ll be lurking at your blogs more than i comment. i’ll be around… but not as often.

so, please be patient with me…

y’all are my favorite – don’t let anyone tell ya otherwise.

i’ll miss our day-in and day-out fun times.

  2. ramsey72 says:

It can suck being a responsible adult sometimes!

  3. Heather says:

Congrats on a new job! We will miss your chattiness with us! :) It will just make the time we have with you more special :) did that sound cheesy or what?

  4. jon mckanna says:

congrats on the new job! i recommend taking advantage of lunch hours…and also non-smoking breaks (if you get those)… but in reality, you can survive the lack of “connection” during the day! maybe your vacation was preparing you for just this time?!?

  5. Travis says:

Mandy, I think you need blog detoxing.

  6. Brandy says:

Well this just makes me very sad. :(

But happy for you that you got a good job! :D

  7. Congratulations on the new job! Not to fear, we’ll still be hanging around. It’ll be good to let those fingers take a small break…you’ll have so much stored up for blogging later they’ll be not stopping you come fall.

    Mandy:

Well, I figure if the blogsphere survived my “Hibernation” then we’ll do okay without you for a little while…

    …but ONLY a little while!!! ;)

‘Sides, everybody knows you’re cooler than I am!

  9. tam says:

i’m guessing you don’t want me to babysit again

    :?

  10. Well that’s just quitter talk!

When the going gets tough the tough get going!
So get going ‘Missy’ … or i just might ‘miss you’ and well…

… it just would not be ‘pretty’ is all i’m saying

This means we can still say it’s all Mandy’s fault tho’ – right?

    RIGHT??

This is so not good news (for the blogging comunity i have come to know and love) – i can just feel it.

    Oh – and congratulations.

Just when I decide to get back into blogging, I lose my hero. Congrats on the new job!

  12. charitymedders says:

Congrats on the new job… we always need a reason for new clothes!

  13. theepiphany says:

I understand! Now that i’ve gotten used to the schedule though, I am able to get those posts in more regularly and even visit other sites. I think about what I want to blog all day and then am ready to stick it up as soon as I get the opportunity instead of staring at the blank template for an hour first. It produces more productivity, even in the blogosphere.

  14. Jon: the vacay DEFINITELY prepared me. this is all a rather sudden transition – but if i can survive 7 days without, then i can make it 8 hours, right? besides, what are lunch breaks for!?

MrLove: its always my fault…. :(

    Travis: shush!!!

    Jay: you’re my guitar hero!!!

    TheEpiphany: more creativity = yay!!

  15. ^^^
that was my lunchbreak drive by.
    back to work.
    xxoo

By the way, Mandy. I don’t know if you’ve been to mine blog lately, but I’m starting to put my posts in podcasts now, which I decided to do for the visually impaired. But if you’re pressed for time, this just might save you some. Brent says you can download them onto your i-Pod or whatever. Or something. (I kind of don’t have an i-Pod.) Just thought I’d throw that in there.

  17. Lei says:

Yay for new job! And new clothes! Although we’ll miss you being on here as much, I look forward to hearing how God is working through this new situation!!

  18. here’s to unconditional blog love!

  22. i’m in!!!!
    hehehehe! just kidding.
    you’re nuts!

  23. alece says:

cathi — i’m in. as long as i can be VP of the club.

  24. oh, alece, I’m good at sharing the thunder! Let’s be co-presidents!!! We can make double-headed t-shirts and all!!!

And mandy mac, great idea about the nuts!

  25. nuts??? that wasn’t a suggestion. that was a description. of you.

  33. Mr.Love: i never got your check! hehehe

Sarah: i’ll let you know if it’s “fun” – i’m not sure if that’s gonna be the case! even seminary students – the future pastors of the world – can be annoying and nagging and cheap and irresponsible and and and and….

Jon2: i think you might be a wise man. its all about priorities, right?

    Pete: thank you!

Tam: i’d pay you to do MY laundry these days! wanna? it’d mean a trip to the east-side
