I am thoroughly enjoying making Seesmic video clips on Brent’s new Blog! mama and I both squeeze into the picture. I have difficulty now typing so the video is a big help - and fun!

Well - I was loving the Morning coffee addon for Firefox. But then I saw your cool tool, went to download it and realized I didn’t have the most recent Firefox. Downloaded it and there is no Morning Coffee available.

What it did was allow you to set pages to automatically open when you open Firefox. And you could set pages to open only on certain days — like your Wednesday posts - don’t want to miss those - so it was set in my morning coffee in case I didn’t get to my reader in time.

I’m describing it really poorly… I’m on a quest to find something similar for the new version.

But I found a cool Reminderfox tool that pops up date reminders. Perfect for someone like me who can’t remember to open her calendar.

I have Open Notebook on my browser too, but I am still trying to find time to sit down and make sense of how to best use it.

    xo ~K

What is an RSS Reader? Why would I want someone else to do my reading for me…? And is this RSS Reader thing the reason my stats have gone down so much lately…? Because I’m tucked away somewhere in cyberspace while all of you all try to find Tam’s socks…?

Gosh, this is confusing. I REALLY don’t know what an RSS Reader is!

  • mandythompson // June 19, 2008 at 6:37 pm

    HAHA!
    do you really not know?
look up googlereader or bloglines. they are popular rss readers.
rss readers are used to receive the rss feeds that blogs/newspapers/websites/podcasts/etc send out to cyberspace when something new comes up. think of it like radio waves, but on the internet. so, you can use your rss reader to “subscribe” to your favorite blogs - and the reader will list all your blogs and tell ya when new posts are up! makes life MUCH simpler!!!

    No, I really don’t know.

And you know what? I just read your explanation and I still don’t know.

    Hello!

My favorite is this newest thing at blogspot, called BLOG LINKS which “aggregates” (is that the word?) the latest posts from all your blogging friends.

It’s unlike the widget we have at wordpress which shows a single blog’s latest posts (say 5 most recent). This one gather’s the most recent from ALL the blogs you list.

I can’t describe it well enough, but if you’d go to my blogger (http://www.dwickedangel.blogspot.com), it’s the one i labeled, LATEST FROM MY OTHER PAGES. It’s cool if you have lots of blogs. It’s also a cool way to track your friends’ latest posts.

I’m still figuring out how to have that at wordpress. That’s where I want to track my blogger friends’ latest posts because it (still) has lots of space at the sidebar, unlike my blogger.

Wish I can find the code/script…

i wanna check out this “read it later” feature.

my favorite firefox add-on (non blog related, but figured i’d still share) is foxytunes. lets me access my itunes without switching windows. i can skip songs and even search for lyrics of the song that’s currently playing right from my internet window. it’ll change your life forever.

  • alece // July 2, 2008 at 1:12 am

okay - i can’t even figure out how to install this read it later thing. enlighten me, can you?

  • alece // July 2, 2008 at 2:24 am

nevermind! i got it! i had to update my firefox for it to work…
