i read the bible through in a year only once. back in high school or shortly after. i don’t really have a desire to do it again. is that bad?

Papa: i keep different color highlighters with me in my bible, because i have the New Inductive Study Bible and sometimes i pick a book and go through it like the guide says. now parts look like a rainbow bible!

Mandy, yes. Totally. I absolutely think it is more essential to stay and steady the course. Because duh! I am like full of every excuse not to read. So yeah, having a plan is a great tool. You are right. I just think that sometimes I (in my lameness) was like bla bla not paying attention to what I was reading and just trying to get through it to check it off. But God is bigger then that and doesn’t waste Bible reading time. Even if we do. If that makes any sense. It is still time well spent. Not like reading other stuff or watching tv. Okay then. Hi Tam.

I have done that previously – but my Bible is my “tool box”. I try to take it to church and/or SS or any Bible study – i highlight it and mark it up – I study more than I read. I use a short devotional each morning that has scripture as well. a commentary is helpful as well.

A couple of years ago I found a One Year Bible. It’s laid out so that you read a little OT, NT, Psalms and Proverbs each day. I still can’t get through the entire thing in a year, though. I think it’s taken me closer to two years.
