There is a lesson here. Never pray on a stomach full or special brownies. Wait, maybe the lesson is that when your stomach is full of special brownies THAT is the time to pray. Either way, how about this lesson, just stay away from brownies and pray often.

I thought my brownies had a funny aftertaste!

Furthermore, I totally agree w/ your heart on this one…how can we develop as young adults by negating the wisdom and ignoring the years of our proceeding generations? I’d be stuck w/o the major influencers in my life! Stuck! I’d probably keep eating those brownies if it weren’t for them!

our culture tells us that if we’re not young and trendy and new, then we’re not that valuable. we’re not that important.

Sometimes the church tells us this too. My father was literally harrassed out of the worship leader position by a new, trendy pastor who felt he was too old to be up front. Despite the fact that he was the best musician available, with the most experience, and could sing any style desired. He was too grey and wrinkled.

I could give other examples, but it gets too discouraging. We want to appear relevant to the world, so we push to the side some of our best leaders.

I think for some people, the longer they live, the more callous they get. The world just wears them down. Maybe the politics of the church discourage them and they stop running the race and start crawling. The younger generation could have a huge impact on some of the older folks if they would help them realize how needed they are and what a huge blessing they could be to the family of God.

There’s a great potential to fail to remember how alive we really are.

WE become dry and tired, just existing or cohabitating, instead of really truly living.

That’s when need to remind ourselves of the Fluid of life, and make that a habit.

Find those special places inside our souls that jump for joy, and do things… over and over.

..see what you made me do so early in the morning. No coffee either.
