That was TOO awesome…and boy did I need it. Easier than waiting for the Moscato to hit me:)
Here is what I wrote:)
The trees stand at halt towards the wind. Tired of being thrown back and forth. No more leaves can fall. The ground owns them now.
Thunder is heard in the distance, but they will not let it shake them
off their foundation. Lightning flashes, but they fear not of what the future may hold. They stand. Together, and strong. Ready to fight even in their weariness
I was thinking of my friends and I working last night. I didn’t work tues and my friend got stuck by herself, and NOONE came to help her, and than thursday she didn’t work and I got stuck with 4 pallets of chemicals(bleach laundry detergent, ugh!) and NOONE came to help me.
I guess I am just getting out my frustrations….
I wish it was BIBLICAL:)
Hope your day is great…and loved the ONE liner deal yesterday:)
Okay, I’m on a roll now, I even read the bible before going to sleep after being up forever:) Go me!
Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
When you get stuck writing, just write. And keep writing. You’ll churn something out eventually. Even if your fingers type 135,000 words and people only remember one sentence.
And by the way, I LIKE DISTRACTIONS when I’m writing. Because when my eyes find something else to do it gives my brain a chance to let my mind find the right words.
After all, the mind is what the brain does for a living.
God is like a meticulous gardener. He sweeps through the garden of our souls and lives and removes the dead branches and the under growth.
He cuts the succulent blooms (fruitfulness and righteousness) of our lives for His own enjoyment. Just as the gardener takes in the smell of these intriguing blooms, God looks at the proof of His work in us.
In cutting of the blooms of our lives, we bloom even more in the season to come.
M: me too.. I’m sipping some coffee now and working on my b log post. I’ll see. Hey.. I wonder how A is doing and that picture and the rolls and the HB. hehehehehee….
I have been out of civilization unable to write. Of course I had floods of post ideas entering my head and could not work on them. Argh! Now home and not remembering them very well. Will be quiet and hope they come to me. In the meantime I posted on our vacation:
There is a concept. How can I truly be distraction free when i can still see the mess that is BEHIND my laptop screen. I know this is meant to get rid of the mess inside my computer, but what if I still feel like a mess on the outside.
Mandy: See? That’s exactly the kind of sentence I can come up with when I HAVE distractions!
Sarah: Interesting choice of words. Seems you made a bit of slip there, though. The black screen was meant to get rid of the mess OUTSIDE of the script on your viewscreen so that you could write. And yet, you said, “what if I still feel like a mess on the outside.” Most people feel like a mess on the INSIDE. I know I do. All the time. And that’s why I write.
Your site is always so creative! Love it.
Thanks for stopping by, and to answer your question…lately on our anniversary we try to go out to dinner, without kids! LOL.
Take care!
That was pretty cool… I have never heard of it before.
And I like quiet too when I write. Something I rarely ever find. I think that is why everything I write is so short. I used to write much more when I was a teen.
hugs: it totally is like journaling in the dark. reminds me of little girls with flashlights writing in their diaries late at night. i was never one of those.
heidi: DITTO! really… hopefully our threats to nominate a new judge will spur alece to action in declaring a winner!
Genny: WITHOUT KIDS. nice ~ and who needs the special red plate then!?
aspaf: wow. you should write at 5:00 in the morning… i’m most productive in the mornings, but not at 5. i don’t have a houseful to make noise at the crack of dawn, though. i’m sure those little blogging luxuries will be lost when i have rugrats running around!

trees, work, bible… yes. it can all run together.
i’ll have to come up with more one-liners; seems like everyone’s summer makes for short blogging.

so strange. this is what I wrote:
Distraction free writing.
There is a concept. How can I truly be distraction free when i can still see the mess that is BEHIND my laptop screen. I know this is meant to get rid of the mess inside my computer, but what if I still feel like a mess on the outside.
Even so, this is cool.

Bran: oh girl. definitely!!!
Sarah: beautiful contribution to the discussion here.
thank you. hope you can clean up the “outside mess”
TheNor: well, in that case, you should write with the TV on, radio blaring, and someone calling you every 5 minutes. me? i need the quietness.
ang // July 12, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Okay, someone needs to bug Tam and tell her to get her little self on here to try the dark copy, I KNOW she will have something to say about it!!!
And the writing could be good too..:-)
mandythompson // July 12, 2008 at 6:31 pm
Ang: the writing would be REAL good. there’s no telling what would ooze out of her heart right now…
hugs4mom // July 12, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Wow it certainly is interesting what can come out of my mind when there is nothing but a blank page! It’s like journaling in the dark.
Heidi // July 12, 2008 at 8:26 pm
I still have a hangover… but I want more…..
I’m dying to know about that pic..

I don’t need THAT many distractions!
