here’s a blast-from-the-past for ya:
“Burning Cold” 2000 college
i wrote this during that time of intense struggle in my faith… a “dark night of the soul” experience for me, which birthed one of the darkest songs i’ve written. the lyrics and tone are some of the most exposing i’ve ever written, and i kinda feel funny about even throwing this one out there. but here it is.
we could barely scratch the surface of this song with the recording, so what we offer is just a demo… there’s so much more to be added to the tones here. i’d love to carve out some time to work on this one again:
recorded at Highest Praise Productions, Inc. (Fred McKinnon - Producer, Brian Morgan - Electric Guitar)

Mandy, that was a great song. The music, the lyrics, the great guitar work of Brian Morgan, and as always the passion with which you sing.
What I hear isn’t the sound coming from your vocal chords, but the passion coming from your heart. Passion comes from the joy of love, it also comes from feelings of great pain. It does seem that we sometimes can’t have one without the other.
Great song! Thanks for sharing it.

’tis working for me this time (although last week’s didn’t…)
i wished i could read the lyrics with the song.
you’ve matured since then, and not just vocally and lyrically.
thank you for baring your soul.

Mandy,
Thank you for being real. It is such a passion of my heart to just be real with one another because there is someone else out there who is going through the exact same thing and needs to hear that they are not alone. The “best” of us go through those trying times. I remember my “come to Jesus” time when I could walk away or stay. Though hard times I would not change a thing because when I was back it brought me to a much deeper level. I know you get that now.
That song was sung with such passion girl. You have a great voice. I am so blessed to have heard it.
Much love,
Angela

That must have been a very hard time in your life.
I remember reading about it; the song reflected your pain well.
I’m glad you came out of your dark night and are now burning hot for Him.
Thank for sending it to me.
I like having you for a friend.
