so. what do a few southern seminary students do in the summer??
we go salsa dancing, of course!
last week we spent an evening with our friends the Lewis’… we wandered the grounds of “Castle Hill” in Ipswich, MA, and did a little dancing. the footage is of the merengue - not standard salsa, but that probably doesn’t matter to y’all.
cindy: you’ll hear awesomente around 5:30.
and if you just came for the dancing, and don’t care about meeting my friends, you can skip to the 4:15 mark. that should get you close enough.

“we go salsa dancing, of course!”
Wow I haven’t done that in forever. I have to figure out a way to fit that into an acronym today.

I love it when the lady with the neck brace walks by. That’s ha-larious! You two can really cut a rug!
mandythompson // July 22, 2008 at 9:02 am

drew just became my new favorite person! I love the line, “this just became really awkward”.
besides, you two and your ‘hip swingage’ [rf: alece]…borderline scandelous, yes?!?!
I’m surprised youtube hasn’t flagged that one yet!

“Total: GREAT plug! hahaha!!! so subtle. so smooth.”
Are you trying to imply that I am anything less than subtle?
hml8 // July 22, 2008 at 10:15 am

Cindy Beall // July 22, 2008 at 10:17 am
Oh my word, that dancing is SEX-ay. Gurl.

“you can’t film me when i’m driving!” ha! i love it! and the random neck-brace-lady around 5:00 is my favorite part.

Wow. You can dance really well.
I wish our seminary days had been such fun, but at that time, we weren’t allowed to dance. We did eat a LOT of salsa though…mmmm…love me some good Tex-Mex!
Jennifer Griffin // July 22, 2008 at 10:45 am

Cat: drew is MY favorite too!!!
Total: i. um. err… um. i plead the 5th.
hml: i still don’t understand half of what you said on that video.
Cindy: OK! consider this an open invitation!
Al: he’s such a clown. we’ll teach you to dance if you come visit!!!
Michelle: we aren’t allowed to have “organized” dancing on campus, so we just organize dances off campus! hehehe
mandythompson // July 22, 2008 at 10:48 am
Jen: the people-watching is half the fun at those things! you never know WHAT (i mean WHO) you’re gonna see.

Nice. It seemed like you didn’t even really have to think about that. Way to go.
I enjoyed the neck brace lady also. And….you two are very good at dancing. Thanks for showing us!
Sarah Markley // July 22, 2008 at 1:03 pm
I’ll come too, with Cindy. We’ll have a blast!
But do i have to wear flip flops to salsa dance in boston?
i also agree with natalie - the neck brace thing was funny. as were the red hats!!
mandythompson // July 22, 2008 at 1:41 pm

Bran Muffin // July 22, 2008 at 1:42 pm
So I seem to have gone from Bwan to BM with you and Alece. This is not good people.
HA!!!
Hmmm, what other requests can I make????? Teach us to make salsa. Yes, a salsa documentary.
Salsandy
Malsa
Mandaliciousalsa
Amandalsa
I’m bored. And the kids make me crazy. Sorry.
mandythompson // July 22, 2008 at 1:50 pm
BM: are you sure it’s the kids that make you crazy? or have you been sniffing their glue? i’m just sayin’ …a salsa documentary… hmmm…. first i need a decent recipe. i’ve got holly the hispanic korean american to help with that!!!
edfromct // July 22, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Great video, great music and great dancing. Maybe Drew’s friend, the one who owns that place, will invite you backs for another party.
Everybody can dance. The only thing that counts is how much fun we are having while doing it.
I love watching kids dance.
brent(inWorship) // July 22, 2008 at 11:47 pm
Nice dancing Drew
Did you say Ma-Raing-Gay?
Not sure that salsa was designed for an accent like yours
Loved the old ladies in their hats…not sure if they were very excited to be there.
And at the end of the video, I kept waiting for the Blair Witch to pop out.
tam // July 23, 2008 at 2:19 pm
didnt read thru all the comments. so i might be repeating something.
1. seminary students, and/or wives, are HOTT
2. you’re old. both you girls. old. only elderly couples who drive together stick the women in the back seat.
wow.
Shelly // July 27, 2008 at 8:47 pm
This is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time. The whole thing…love it.
