DO: look

A few weeks back, I put out a call for some volunteers that were either international volunteers/ministers or non-vocational ministers. I thought it would be neat to have a few of you (emphasis on the word “few”) join me in this September “DO Something” series.

Your response was, in a word, OVERWHELMING!

My mental state of mind became, in two words, slight panic.

After gathering my thoughts and forming a plan, I sent an email out to all umpteen of you, giving a glimpse of what September would look like at my.com. About 2/3 of you responded that you wanted to participate. I quickly channeled the aforementioned panic into a google calendar plus a google spreadsheet (color coded, thankyouverymuch) to help me keep track of who and where and when and what!

The end result? This list of DOers. These DOers are sharing a part of their story: how they contribute to the world – make a difference – push for change. I’ll let you know from day to day where to wander in the www to find these stories. They are spread all over the place and all over the world.

About a week ago, I sat and read over the list, thinking through the stories that will be featured. And, y’all, dang if I didn’t get all emotional over this. I’m completely honored and humbled to collaborate to bring you these stories. They won’t disappoint you!

A few of you have already asked, so if you want in – if you want to be a DOer this month – let me know. I’ll put you on my trusty google calendar and slap your name right there on that sidebar.

DO something.

  1. I saw you were asking how to stop moderation, go into your settings, and under discussion, i think, you can say to moderate all, or just that everyone that comments just needs to have had one approved comment!

  2. Okay, Mandy. Had no idea who or what mandythompson.com was until I read Grateful in Ga’s (AKA Tammy) post this AM and decided to jump in on the bandwagon… though it may take me a bit to get it posted I’m taking on the questions in today’s post here and at Cheryl’s Profbaugh Blog.

I want to be an everyday doer so … if there are any days left just throw one at me… No Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays – have blog or real life commitments those days… Thursdays and Mondays are good… but you know I’m not picky. LOL! :D

This is so great, can I copy your pic from the post and provide a link back here?

Okay… I’m so excited, if I were talking I’d be out of breath!

    Blessings.

  3. Michelle:
I’d never come across Tammy’s blog before ~ and I don’t think she’s ever commented, so this is all fun and new.

    I’ll email ya.

Looking forward to what you might bring to this! :)
And you can copy anything you want! Well, except for my posts, of course!

  4. Hey Mandy,
I must be the lurker you’re looking for :) I found you via Angela’s blog.

I would love to put a link button up for this event. Do you care? Any particular pic you would prefer? Your video?

This is an awesome thing and I would love to help promote it.

    Grateful to have met you,
    tammy
