Ok. So, here’s the deal. I want this month to be more than just a lot of conversation about what we are doing or should do. I want to be about actually doing.
We will be hearing from a lot of others who are working towards change. But, we will also take a look at our own lives asking what needs exist around us, and how we might be able to evoke change.
I want to challenge US to really genuinely DO something.
And I don’t care what it is. Just something.
This month is about CHANGE, so let’s make some CHANGES!!!
Right?
Right!
I had the opportunity to film a moment where I had the chance to evoke in a friend’s life, to use as an example of what I mean when I talk about identifying the need and working towards change. You may remember my Irish friend, who taught us how to speak with an Irish accent? You should thank her for her candor and spontaneity. She was a good sport about this:

I’m so inspired! Really! And hungry! And thirsty.

Nice translating, Mandy. Very nice.
She’s beautiful. Way to share milk and cookies with her.
Also, I think it’s pretty rad how she pronounces “cows”. Who woulda thunk? Certainly not me.

Professional cookie dipper, huh? Sounds like moving to Boston was a divine appointment for you and Sharon!
traciejane // September 5, 2008 at 7:48 am
Ps. Thank you Sharon for your candor and being such a good sport

Melissa: Good morning!! Come back this afternoon, too - there’s more!
Becca: I forgot the link to the accent video we did a while back - just added it up there for you.
Tracie: So much “divine” around here.

C is for cookie. That’s good enough for me.
mandythompson // September 5, 2008 at 8:37 am
HAHA!!! And what’s your favorite “C?”
LSOF // September 5, 2008 at 8:53 am
Amen Mandy:) LOVED that example!
I’m thinking…I’m thinking…

This is great! Love the example and great fun!
Heidi // September 5, 2008 at 9:09 am
A “C” would be good right now, who cares if it’s only 6:08 in the morning!!
mandythompson // September 5, 2008 at 9:21 am
Y’all - we had a BLAST watching this video after we made it. She really really loved the cookies & milk. And, I’m still traumatized that she’s never had them before.
H: good morning!!!

i love watching your hands. and i love sharon’s accent! i just wanted her to keep talking.
i’m a little disappointed that her first cookies ‘n milk experience was “wasted” on packaged chips ahoy, but hopefully it won’t be her last.
Natalie @ I AM (not) // September 5, 2008 at 9:46 am
Dude, what, is she like from another country or something? (hehe)
Shanda // September 5, 2008 at 9:52 am
What, no oreos? OH, chips ahoy are good, but oreos and milk? HMM…I think I’ll go have some. Never mind that it’s only 9am.
Heidi // September 5, 2008 at 10:13 am
Good Morning Friend….
Anna // September 5, 2008 at 11:01 am
You make me laugh and I love that about you! Cookies and milk… hehehe….
Hmmm… change…. see a need and then do something to change it… good stuff…
mandy // September 5, 2008 at 11:21 am
I’m not a fan of cookies dipped in milk. The milk is no good after it has crumbs in it.
I prefer to bite the cookie, take a drink…repeat…multiple times.
mandythompson // September 5, 2008 at 11:37 am
Al: She just got back from Northern Ireland, so her accent was extra thick!!!
Nat: More like another PLANET.
Shanda: YEAH!! I see nothing wrong with cookies for breakfast, especially when you read the cereal ingredients. The two are practically the same. Practically…
Anna: Glad you’re getting it!!!!
mandy: gasp. Not a fan?!? Oh my!
Rachel Rowell // September 5, 2008 at 11:49 am
so much fun!!! I’m so glad you were able to minister to and evoke into your friends like in this way. Her life will never be the same now. She has gone from darkness to light for sure!
mandythompson // September 5, 2008 at 11:51 am
RR: HAHAHAH!!!!! Yes, she has! We filmed this weekend, and she brought it up again this week. I think this really was a life-changing moment for Sharon.

I think you should run for office!
@ngie // September 5, 2008 at 2:07 pm
My favorite C is any C of the chewy chocolaty nature. NO NUTS! It can be crunchy IF (and only if) I have an ice-cold wide mouth glass of milk to go with. Thank you very much.
This post reminded me of this commercial… so sweet!!!

Okay, Mandy. My response to ProfBaugh’s post is all about being a tree. That may not make sense to you, but you can read about it over at my blog. And hopefully it will then make perfect sense.
Blessings.

COWS!!
That made me laugh.
Loved your translations. She really was a great sport, wasn’t she?
PS: I think you wildly entertaining.
Brandy // September 14, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Okay, the day you posted this it wouldn’t play for me for some reason and then I forgot about it. Until your post today. So I came back to watch it, and I couldn’t stop giggling. heehee
That was too cute and too funny.
Will you make her say cow again?
mandythompson // September 14, 2008 at 9:57 pm
LOL!!!!
