I wandered over to the blog of a recent new commenter, and found the following list of websites/tools:
1) goodsearch.com – Each time you click, the charity of your choice will receive 1 cent. I know that doesn’t seem like much, but consider how much you google stuff each week. See? It can add up!
2) thehungersite.com – So, there are different buttons for different donations, and you can click the buttons to have money sent to different needs… While you’re waiting for your favorite youtube video to load, park it at this site and click away!
3) ripple.org – Ripple works in the same way that thehungersite works… You just click and money from tasteful advertising goes somewhere to somebody in need. Seriously. I tried it. You can even install a ripple searchbar or put a button on your blog. (pssst – Look in my sidebar!)
4) freerice.com – Test your vocab skills while you donate rice to those in need. The more right answers you get, the more rice goes to someone else. THIS, my friends, was fun!!!
Here’s the challenge: Bookmark one (or all) of these links in your browser. While you’re waiting to kill some time, take a moment to click.
Your clicks can change someone else’s life.
(Amber, I hope you don’t mind that I STRAIGHT OUT stole this list from you! I give you all the credit, girl!!)
WHO’S CLICKING WITH ME???
cool stuff, i have now added the ripple search bar to my firefox browser…
That is the most fabulous idea ever.
Okay that and being friends with you.
And then there is more!!!
be careful b/c the free rice can be addicting!!!!
Okay, I added the good search to benefit Hope for Haiti. See Mandy your blog is “doing” this month!!

YAY!!!!
Prof: I REALLY wanted this to be more than just TALKing about DOing! And I’ve had to work HARD to come up with creative/easy/quick ways to make that happen….
Wow, cool!
I love the rice game!
I’m clicking! I love goodsearch….when I can remember to use it.
I’m a clicker!!
I just did 1500 grains of rice! That was FUN! I couldn’t stop. I finally had to pull myself away!
I loved the grammar one. Oh that was FUN!
I’m such a nerd.
I also did the goodsearch one. I just gave Niel and Alece a penny.
I’m using goodsearch from now on!
neato! Thanks for listing them for us.
way cool!
click on!
Pete: You can set up ripple as your browser searchbar. Maybe goodsearch has the same feature??
Bran: OH MY HEAVENS!!! You’re so right! I’ve set up goodsearch now – so Thrive Africa can get my searches!
I told Jake “next time you want to google, you have to do goodsearch okay? NO MORE GOOGLE.”
heehee
Another great charity site is AIDtoCHILDREN.com. It donates money to children in need through World Vision.
Check it out at http://www.aidtochildren.com
