I’m there, thanks for the “hat tip”. We can’t be real worshipers, and ignore social injustice issues such as poverty. Our “true spiritual act of worship” is when we are transformed … when we live it, make a difference.

    Thanks for posting!

I KNOW you gave me the topic…I am giving a Go:)

  5. OHHH!!!

It’s only 8:30 and there are already THREE of you!

    I could wet my pants.
    Could – but I won’t.

  6. LSOF says:

[ mandy, come to the blog...my friend replied to a letter i wrote, and she came back very philosophical, so I posted her response. I want to write back clearly...]

for some reason, i just really love seeing that color on your blog (that awesome reddish orange). yes, yes i do.

and i’m going to be contemplating this. i don’t want to write something about poverty just for the sake of writing it… but i love the idea, and feel i have much i COULD say, i just need to narrow down what i SHOULD say…

  8. LSOF: Will try to get there today!

Al: I think your perspective would be fresh – new – interesting. You’d offer something to the conversation that not many would offer. I’m just sayin’

  9. alece says:

    fresh? new? interesting?

    no pressure?

    i’m just sayin’

  10. LOL!!!

    You know – I try! :)

can i tell you something; last night i did something (which i won’t talk about b/c it will be what i write about) which made me sick to my stomach about how much we in America HAVE. I thought about how i wanted to post on it but didn’t really know how.

so i signed up. i’m going to write my post today while it is all fresh and set it to post on 10/15. thanks for the point to the site.

  12. TheNorEaster says:

If you have so much to say…

…why stop at just one day?

  13. edfromct says:

I just registered. Thanks for providing the link. The only problem I had is where they asked what my blog was about. I post about everything.

I think every one in our community of bloggers has written post about poverty.

I am not sure that it is important how articulate we are when we write about poverty. What is important is keeping the problem of poverty in the forefront of public dialogue.

  14. Shanda says:

Yea, I am in. I’m back in service with Americorps where I encounter poverty up close and personal on a daily basis. So I’ve got a lot to say.

  15. For those of you who have signed up: THANK YOU!!!

    I’m SO excited!!

  16. Amy says:

    I’m in…

  17. alece says:

i’m signed up. i even have my post written and scheduled! (on both the grit and my field blog!)
