  1. Julie: not so bad really. honestly. I mean, it hurt in a dull aching sort of way right afterwards… and is tender/sensitive even 36 hours later. But, I’m PLEASANTLY surprised. Ok. Here’s an objective for you: I’ve had MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH worse PMS cramps… (sorry guys – just trying to find a way to describe it). Really, compared to cramps, I wouldn’t even describe this as pain.

Lei: I was very calm. I truly surprised myself by how dang calm I was. no video because we QUICKLY made the decision to go and literally ran out of the apartment to get there before they closed. Quickly does NOT equal spontaneous in this situation, because I’ve wanted one for 10 years. But, quickly meant grab the keys and go. :P

Fred: really? dang… I’m so embarrassed!

    Kristi: um. thanks…?!

Cindy: Why not now!? That’s my question of the week!!

    Vicki: You’re so very welcome – I wish I had a video for y’all.

  2. I pierced my nose a couple of summers ago and I couldn’t get over the fact that I had something inside my nostril. So I planned on taking it out at the end of the summer. Well, I woke up one morning and it was gone! The Nose Ring Fairy fluttered it away…no, not really! It just fell out. And I was fine with that. I also had my eyebrow pierced once too but that was a little more maintenance so it came out too.

I also have to say, I’m really intrigued by this “train” you feel you are on. I am so impressed with all your blog friends that they don’t feel the need to pry like I do and just give you sweet words of encouragement. Or maybe they all know something I don’t? You have some good friends here.

I wish I knew but I don’t have to know to tell you you’re cool. And I miss you. And Munchkin time.

  3. PS-HI SALEM!!!! I MISS THE PEOPLE I KNOW YOU LIVE IN YOU!!! I really don’t miss you though especially this month. But I thought I’d say hi anyway.

    Love,
    Former Willow Ave resident Megan

  4. Megan Schell you’re breaking my heart today… I miss you!!! More than the lack of phone calls reflect. I really really miss you.
ok. here it is. FOR REAL phone date soon? something not after 8:00? because by then my talking energy is sapped… how ’bout I just call you someday and hope that you answer. and I’ll give you the skinny on the train – the stuff that the blog friends know better than to ask about… deal?

  5. good times?!? this reminds me of getting my ear pierced…my pastor and his family walked by the window of the shop i was in…perfect timing!!! granted, i was 22 at the time, not…you know…

but that would really stink with my allergies…glad i didn’t go with the nose…

  6. Ok so this is totally random and has very little to do with your post but when I saw the title of this post, my mind instantly went to the Salem witch trials……i bet if you had gotten your nosed pierced back then, you would be hanged as a witch. Who knows….I am just in random mode today.

  7. T: TOTALLY feels like somethings up my nose… but, i’m starting to notice it less and less. you know like when you wear a new ring on a finger that has been historically naked? at first you’re keenly aware of the ring’s presence, but eventually you don’t even feel it anymore. i’m starting to not feel the nose ring anymore. yay!

  8. Will just say it looks cool on you.

My rhinitis and sinus infection prone system cannot even contemplate it.

So – how many times have you looked in the mirror so far? ‘Cause I’d be looking in the mirror constantly – checkin’ it out. :)

  9. ahhhh… I’ve sat in a similar chair… twice actually… and my body rejected my beautiful stud both times… which makes me terribly sad, because a nose ring is tremendously cool!! So last time… I went for some ink… and sure enough- I still have it :)

  10. I admire your ability to “just do it”. There have been too many times when I thought and thought and thought about doing something, then didn’t do it. I do need a large injection of spontaneity.

I do have to ask how does the piercing affect blowing your noise?

  11. Ed: I’m SO not ready to blow my nose. ow ow ow… that would hurt real bad! And it wasn’t too much of a “just do it” moment – I finally got my husband’s permission, so it was time. I’ve wanted one for 10 years. My theme of the week: WHY NOT???

  12. speaking of waxing the brows. I seriously need to go get mine done again. thanks for the reminder. not that I wouldn’t have noticed the next time i go to put my makeup on and i have mustaches for eyebrows. ;)

  13. holy crap!!! i so totally missed what you were doing in those pics. It looked like you were getting your brows waxed. then I saw the nose stud. wow! i’m having a blonde moment. you can delete that last comment, or just leave it there for others to enjoy and laugh at the expense of my stupidity…..hehe

wow!!!!!!!! i can’t believe you did it. you lovin’ it? did it hurt? i think it’s awesome!

  14. NO WAY!!!! Awesome! I got my nose pierced too, a number of years ago (uh …. 7 years ago). It has since closed up. Almost all restaurants don’t want me to wear it, and since that’s what I do for a living … yeah. But my husband LOVED it … so our deal is that as soon as I can say ‘No Mas’ to restaurants … I’ll get it re-pierced. :)

The dull pain lasts awhile actually. But it’s not bad. You’re right.

    rrg

now i want to go get my nose pierced.

  15. This is an accessory I have contemplated extensively. Yours looks great! Now, most people I have seen with one nose piercing have it on the left side. Why the left side? Something to do with the wedding band? Something else? Whenever I picture myself with a nose piercing I always picture it on my right side. Again, you look great!

  16. Mandy,

Looks great on you!! Now if I were just younger, I might try the same thing myself. Unfortunately, that TRAIN has already left the station for me. There comes a point where cool becomes icky. I’m at the “icky” point. Oh well. . . guess I’ll just have to live vicariously through you.
