A “hair”-raising decision…

LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED the hair suggestions. I’ve narrowed them down to two.

Yeah uh-huh…

But, there’s that wedding in February where I have to stand by the bride. Oh, and there’s the thought of having to shave my head to get the dreads out. Um. No thanks.

Here’s what I’m planning to do (Becky. You. Rock.):

Yes, I’ll still come out as a brunette, but Friday 5pm Donna is gonna chop me up!

Hi Mandy – Dreads! Yes! I have a missionary friend here who has dreads down to the middle of her back. She always wears a wide head band or a great bandanna to keep them off her face and cover the mess on top. She has some wispy bangs that look good on her tall forehead. She uses beeswax to continue wrapping the hair as it grows. The reason she has dreads is so that she does not damage the environment with chemical products like shampoo and plastic bottles. She has dreads and her husband has a short mohawk or keeps it shaved bald.

If you do plunge into dreads you can always get a classy wrap for the wedding because true dreads are not coming out without a clean chop off.

You are going to look cute however you get it cut.

I love it! I think it would look amazing on you.

  3. Y’all. I’m not gonna lie. I woke up this morning & thought: “what’s my blog post for the morning? OH GOSH. the hair one. well… i have to cut it now. yikes!”
    (insert heart palpitations)
(well, not really. but i am getting a bit nervous.)

    It’s really cute!!!

Trick to getting out dreads w/ out having to chop it all off? You take each one & cut it through the middle longways. You’ll loose about 1/3 of the hair, & have to do a lot of brushing. But it’s the best way (just in case you change your mind).

  5. you need to be my guinea pig…chop yours short and I’ll decide if I want to do it too! :)
…i miss your face…even more than i miss your hair…is that bad?

  6. Sarah says:

  10. Becky says:

Mandy, I don’t know what the texture of your hair is like, but the greatest thing about this haircut is that it works either straight or wavy. I love it.

my daughter has your color hair and she cut it exactly like this a year ago-its a cute style, but youll prolly needa flat iron to keep it looking like this.

Isn’t it so much fun to change hairdos? Don’t know how many times in life for me…
Seriously don’t get friends who’ve had the same haircut for 30-some years!
    Oh, well…to each her own.
    Love,
    Jlo

LOVE it. And, dude… it’s just hair. If I had straight hair it would be so fun and funky… and you have the perfect shaped face for it.

I have to take a lot of meds to be able to fall asleep, and the ambien portion of it makes me have travelers amnesia sometimes… so before I fall asleep I go about my business but have no memory of it in the morning. One morning I woke up and had cut my below-the-shoulder length hair to an a-line at mid-neck. A little shocking. I always cut my own hair so that part wasn’t shocking… I just had no desire for a length change. Just be grateful you’ll be awake for yours :)

    sooo excited!!

i’ve chopped my hair at least 4 times in my life. never regretted any time!!

  18. Cyle Lewis says:

    I say dreads

  19. Kristen says:

I really, really like both of those looks. I think the 2nd one looks edgy and I love how choppy it is. Are you seriously considering dreads? If so, check out http://www.knottyboy.com. The have instructions, products, and “claim” you can remove them with their solvent. I don’t know, though. My son had dreads for a few years and the only way we got those suckers out was a buzz cut! But it sure was a cute look.

Also, dreads are HIGH MAINTENANCE. Especially if your hair is straight, and you want smaller dreads instead of a uni-dread down the back of your head.

  23. I LOVE IT!!! Go for it girl. I can’t wait to see pics. can’t wait!!!!!

  24. sara says:
