    Odd numbers are more funny. I have no idea why, they just are.

    Just remember… YOU did ask! (you know i’m a numbers freak – right?)

    A while ago i would have said i liked even numbers more because i like the symmetry of evenly paired numbers…

    How you can divide them and two people get even amounts – one does not get more than the other so no fights over who gets the last Oreo! :-)
    (with mine it would be you Tam – you know that, right?)

    I also like that in life when cells divide they do so by doubling and you get multiples of two – even numbers.

    The duality of all aspects of our daily lives: night and day, good and evil, positive and negative, North and the good ole South ;-)

    However, with age comes wisdom – sometimes!

    Today odd numbers are just the best, i feel.

    I love the symmetry THEY contain…

    7 whole tones in our music scale
    the way a binary (even two digit) system of counting only has 1 (everything) or 0 (nothing) as it’s representative values and each incremental generation comes by adding a single odd unit to a complete row of ‘ones’:
    1 + 1 = 10 ( 2)
    11 + 1 = 100 (4)
    111 + 1 = 1000 (8)
    1111 + 1 = 10000 (16) etc…
    beautiful ! :-)

    i also like ’square’ numbers: 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, etc. and even more, cubes: 1, 8, 27, 64, 125,…

    and have a special love for irrational numbers like Pi and e – and before anyone asks Pi plus e does NOT equal Pie!

    In answer to your question – Odd numbers!

    ( and yes – it’s probably because i can relate to them being called ODD!) ;-)

    Depends, if there are my numbers for work I like odd, The top 3 : 1,or 3.

    If it’s in my checkbook 10 sounds betterthan 1.

    I don’t like to be an odd-numbered age. It sounds older to me. I would rather be 42 than 41. Stupid I know.

    Odd numbers aren’t as friendly like the happy evens.

    I think even numbers are more “round”.

    My answer isn’t nearly as mathematically brilliant as lovewillbringustogether up there. His post kind of made me twitch. Representative values and incremental generations? Huh?

    I like downbeats and upbeats. Odds and evens.

    I like it when people clap on evens. But sometimes I like it when they clap on odds and evens, but never in between.

    Music is numbers. I find it odd that I hate math, but love music.

    I don’t enjoy numbers at all… math hurts my head. When I play cribbage with my Grandpa he’s always telling me to “drop my voice” when I’ve gotten all my 15’s because I’m too dumb to realize it and am looking for more combinations.

    Words. Now there’s something I can enjoy. I do find, however, when I’m giving examples of things I group them into odd number groupings. I would describe you with one or three adjectives, but never two.

    even because things need to be in pairs… it’s sort of a ocd thing, much like Monk (tv show). Why? I don’t really know, it’s just a gut-level-know-it’s-right-kinda-thing

    Depends on what it is. In artistry? Odds all the time. Relational? Definitely evens. Music, as Russ pointed out, uses both rather equally (I think). So. Depends on the what. I think personally … if I had to pick just for me … I’d say odds. Because my favorite number is an odd, which is a multiple of two other odds (21 – 3*7), and my favorite shape (or form) is a triangle. which has three sides, three points. And I like visual triangles (or triangular forms – the human face is full of triangles), as well as triangular ideas. (Father, Son, Holy Spirit; spirit, soul, body; water, air, ice; etc.)

    I am like Love in that I use to prefer evens because of the pretty symmetry of evenly paired numbers. Even numbers appealed to my OCD personality.

    Now I find the “odd” things in life more interesting. My favorite animal is the platypus, can’t get much odder than that.

    Evens. They just feel kinder and warmer. Odds feel cold. Really deep reasoning going on here! In face, now that I vocalize this, I think I might be considered certifiable! At any rate, I’m glad you asked this. . . .I thought I was the only person with a strong preference and it’s been fun and funny reading everyone’s responses!
