Weekend War:

It’s Monday morning. And I woke up feeling MUCH better, but I thought the stupid cold was gonna do me in. The battle waged on for days.

Friday night:

  • Was supposed to sing at a Christmas party, called in sick.
  • Went to CVS for drugs. They have them there.
  • Came home.
  • Took drugs.
  • Ate pop-sickles.
  • Watched Lost.
  • Tried to sleep on the couch.

Saturday:

  • Breakfast at a prof’s house.
  • Nap on the couch.
  • Watched Lost with Drew.
  • Ate pop-sickles.
  • Watched more Lost with Drew
  • Nap again.
  • Chili’s with our BFFs who are moving on Thursday.
  • Tried to sleep on the couch.

Sunday:

  • Woke up to get ready for church.
  • Thought I was gonna die.
  • Called pastor and went back to sleep.
  • Slept late.
  • Talked to Kristi (met-on-the-net).
  • Napped.
  • Ate lunch with Drew (he cooked – bless him!)
  • Showered (it’d been a while…)
  • Begged Drew to let me out of the house to see the snow.
  • Went for a Sunday drive with Drew.
  • Napped again.
  • Watched Lost with Drew.
  • Ate more pop-sickles.
  • Successfully slept on the couch.

Monday morning – I won the war! After a good night’s sleep and the fever gone, I think I”m on the mend. Whew.

Casualties:
One massive fever
One entire box of Kleenex
Eleventy-two pop-sickles

So. Please tell me you had a more enjoyable weekend than I did!?

  1. Me and the lovely Mrs. went to a tree farm and picked out our very first real Christmass tree Saturday! Then I decorated it. She’s been sick this weekend too.

Are we facebook friends? I have pics on my profile.

  2. I was praying for you girl!!!

I went too a drag out beat them up (literally) girls basketball game. Did a little ministry and had a teensy weensy migraine.

K, Im lyin about the migraine, it was the worst. But like you I went to CVS here in San Diego, imagine that they have drugs there too.

Found a BIG bag of Hot Tamales, BIG bottle of Gatorade, and I went on with life, well after a few meds for the head..

Better today and I owe so off too work I go.

  3. “I had a more enjoyable weekend than you did.”

I ate another steak sandwich that is so good I am thinking about suing the restaurant so they change the name on the menu to “The Best Streak Sandwich In The World.”

I took photos just to make Brent envious.

I slept like a log, a rock, and a grizzly bear.

I published another first-anniversary post, discovered the fate of God’s Katrina Kitchen, found one of the leaders of GKK, whom I doubt would remember me, but…

    …he did.

Me. And my little fencepost project.

    Man, that made my Monday.

And I have yet to get sick this winter. In fact, my roommate jokes with me all the time, “If you ever stopped working or moving or writing or even if you just shut off your head and went to the doctor, you’d turn into a pile of dust because it would all catch up with you.”

I don’t want to turn into a pile of dust. So whenever I feel something coming on, I just brown some ground beef and have a manwich night.

    Works for me.

  4. Glad you’re feeling better. Missed you Thursday night!

I was knocked out with that same kind of thing (picked up in GA over T-giving from my sister-in-law) all last week and it was no fun. Welcome back to the land of breathing through your nose!

  5. I’m so glad you’re feeling better! I’m VERY glad you got to see snow…that’s probably what made you all better. :)

We finally got our Christmas tree up Saturday morning. Not much else got done because then I had to take a nap!

Welcome back to the land of the living!

  6. Unfortunately, my weekend was very similar to yours, except I dragged my butt out of bed and made it to church–sang a special with a quartet (think Point of Grace minus the perkiness) and played the piano for the praise band. Then, I promptly collapsed, missed a church board meeting, and spent the rest of the day in bed.

    I still want pop-sickles. I don’t think that’s a good sign. Argh!!

“Flu, flu go away. Don’t come again any other day!”

    Still feeling crappy,
    ~Cheryl

  7. @ mandy – welcome back.

@ Nor – I love that the food comment came first.

It was a great weekend. The weather here is glorious at the moment…just beautiful. And we went to the beach. Obviously.
