Ha! You posted right as I was checking my Reader. (Which has a lot of blogs on it. I’m not stalking you. Honest.)
My favorite song right now is Blake Shelton’s “She Wouldn’t Be Gone.” It’s actually stuck in my head right now. It’s strange, because I don’t normally like him much.
And every year, one of my favorite Christmas songs on the radio is the BNL and Sarah McLachlan version of “God Bless Ye Merry Gentlemen.”
The lyrics talk about how the world has gone cold and we’ve gotta warm it up with love, compassion, things of that sort. The beat is nuts and her vocals are INCREDIBLE!
Becca: Dang. Did I not respond?? It was good. But I think Stevie’s voice has a bit more feeling in it. Texture. Soul. ya know? I don’t know. I can’t imagine the song without her in it!
Cindy: Well written story. I’m learning that it’s important to write verses that add different color to the chorus (main idea). That last verse with the plumber – great stuff!
Kenny Chesney’s “Way Down Here” and most of his new album, actually. It will be interesting to see which songs become his singles. Beautiful, and possibly his best, album.
Blake Shelton’s version of “It Ain’t Easy Bein’ Me” because it’s basically where I am right now.
Becca – Are you kidding me? That song is so annoying. (But, I have to admit – when I watched the ENTIRE youtube video, that me friend sent me, I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants)
Dangit – now I have it stuck in my head…..
PS: I like Sugar Cookies with the pink icing
I wouldn’t say these are “favorite” songs but lately I’ve found myself listening to Annie Lennox’s “Walking on Broken Glass” and Jennifer Paige’s “Crush” more than usual. I couldn’t begin to tell you why.
Becca, Chocolate Rain cracks me up. I think it has a Rick Astley quality to it – you don’t expect such a booming baritone voice to come from someone who looks 15.
i don’t know if it’s my favorite, but it’s definitely the one I can’t get out of my head at the moment (all cause of Shrek 3)… “Live and Let Die” by GNR. I have also been singing “I Believe in Love” by Barlow Girl lately.
Since I’ve been trying real hard to get into the Christmas spirit, I’ve been listening to Third Day’s Christmas Offerings. The whole CD is so good, but if I had to pick one, it would be “Born in Bethlehem”.

“Warm It Up” (with Love) by Brandy

Landslide.
Beautiful.
(what’d you think of that version I sent you?)
Trace Adkin’s “You’re Gonna Miss This”
Kelli: Brandy has a way of hitting 18 notes in a half-second. How does she do that!?
PQ: Love that melody. How the phrases run together for the first few lines of the verses…
Becca: Dang. Did I not respond?? It was good. But I think Stevie’s voice has a bit more feeling in it. Texture. Soul. ya know? I don’t know. I can’t imagine the song without her in it!

“the chain” OR “you and i” by ingrid michaelson. i can’t decide.

Al: We love some Ingrid, don’t we!?
Marisa: Kenny has some amazing songs. He’s very witty. Love his lyrics and energy. I’ll have to look these up.
I have been on a gypsy jazz kick lately.
“Nana” by Ojos de Brujo is the song I have been playing the most on my iPod.
Silent Night, by MercyMe and Amy Grant. Perfectly Christmasy old-school.
I’m not saying this just to make you feel cool, but I can’t stop listening to May God Arise.
Up to the Mountain by Patty Griffin.
Chocolate Rain by Tay Zonday.
Hahaha.
If anyone can tell me why that’s funny, I’ll give you a cookie.
“What About Everything?” by Carbon Leaf

Ok. I’ve gotta go listen to that chocolate rain song… Hmmm…..
Gitz: Can I have my autograph?
Becky: That’s one of my favorites. Amazing song. Unbelievable theology, if I may be so bold.
HAHA.
Oh my.
It makes me laugh hysterically.
(and….um, I have no cookies. Sorry.)

Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song) – Amy Grant

Can You Feel It – Crowder
