Why here?

“why”

By now, some of you have learned that this is my favorite word. I use it all the time. Even my kindergarten teacher remembered this about me.

So… Why do you come here? And read? And/or comment?

Please tell me.

And, don’t worry – I’m asking for a reason. There’s always a reason.

How long can I take ??

This blog represents a beautiful woman who is walking through a journey with God, not just alongside with her husband, BUT of HER VERY OWN.

As she speaks or writes, sometimes it’s like she’s opened my heart peaked in and closed it back up.

Difference: Is that she has the GUTS to write it.

laughter!!! Oh my God… Belly laughter.

I leave either laughing, crying, or challenged…

That’s WHY I come back over and over.

    Friend get over the WHY…
    YOU absolutely ROCK!!
    Love ya girl!

  2. alece says:

    because i love you.

  3. Merrie. says:

hey, that’s no fair! alece said what I was going to say! (how hs does THAT sound?)
anyway, I come here because I love you!
    There, I said it!

  4. janowen says:

cause i like reading what another chick in ministry has to say and to connect with you.

  5. Photoqueen says:

I came here because Tam talked about having so much fun on your trip to KC. I keep coming back because you are honest and transparent and interesting. Plus, you ask good questions, and I’m learning that’s a vital part of engaging your blog readers.

  6. Wow. Thanks y’all. I honestly wasn’t fishing for compliments here. I was fishing for feedback on content. LOL

These comments are interesting to read…

Namely, because your answers have more to do with “me” than I anticipated. I asked why you come to this blog, thinking that this blog is only a fraction of my life… And my life right now only partly represents me.

But, there’s the “me” factor in this that your comments are bringing out. Very interesting, y’all…. I’ve gotta think on this. Really.

  7. jordan says:

curiosity. i like reading what other people have to say…

  8. ramsey72 says:

Because you are from the south and you are just so dang funny.
Your blog is like a little community and it invites connections not just with you but with other people.

  9. Marisa says:

ramsey stole me answer…the community here is different than on a lot of other blogs. here, commenters talk to you and each other, whereas on many other blogs, it’s a bunch of people only talking to the writer. it’s more welcoming. :)

as far as actual content, you challenge us, entertain us, and tell us great stories. why wouldn’t we come back?

  10. gitz says:

I came because I liked your comments on Tam’s blog. I stayed because I like your brain. And your heart. And you in general.

I like that you make me think. You ask questions I can’t always just rattle off answers to. I like being challenged. I like your humor and your honesty and transperancy. I like that you have passion for the things I have passion for… you can do what I can’t anymore and I kind of feel like I get a taste of it here. You haven’t lost your wonder and excitement about the little things and the big things. You play adventures with your nephew. I so get that. And I like it.

    Love you a bunch.

  11. tam says:

why do we have the same ideas i think youre having here at the same time??? why?

ok. why do i come. i like your hat.

    and your smile.

    wheres your snow?

  12. Brooke says:

My favorite word is “why” too!! My parents used to yell at me because i said it all the time in response to everything!

    I come here because:
    you’re neat
    you make me laugh
i can never predict what you’ll write about
i can live vicariously through you because i miss living in boston
    you’re smart

i think those are the top reasons. :-)

  13. TheNorEaster says:

    Content, huh?

Well, in that case, look at it this way.

If someone visited your blog for the very first time, and read only the post you published on that day, would he or she know that you are a Christian?

But why do I keep coming back?

Ah’m still tryin’ ta figya dad pahd oud. Mus’ be dad Bawson axe-en’ youse gahd!

  14. Steph S. says:

Because you’re authentic, and I’m tired of seeing Christians deny their struggles. Being a Christian doesn’t make you immune to temptation, and you articulate that very well.

That, and I’m getting a degree in Professional Procrastination, and this site serves a great study resource. ;)

  15. Kim says:

why?…because you think in such an “out of the box” way that I only wish I could. You give me reason to stop and think. Thanks for that!

    Keep up the great work!

  16. Krissy Pope says:

    Hi from the Lurker…
This blog made me smile because I know the accent with which you pronounce this word.
    I MISS YOU!!!!

  17. This is helpful…

    Honest. Random. Questions.

Oh y’all. If I’ve got anything in my head, it’s questions! :)

Love y’all for answering this question for me today. wow. I’m really surprised and humbled by these answers.

  18. Travis says:

I’m here because I can keep in touch with you. Since I knew you before you had ever written a blog…
    or married a Drew…
    or bridesmaided in my wedding…
    you get the picture.

  19. Cindy Beall says:

I come here because I like you. A lot. And I like to read your stuff because you write ver guud :) I like that if there weren’t like a bajillion miles between us, we’d hang out together for reals.

  20. Becca says:

Because you’re a musician, and I’m one too.
    Because you write very well.
Because you are a friend of my friend.
Because you have a charm that comes out in your writing.
    Because you’re inquisitive about life.
Because you respond to people’s comments.
Thinks that’s all I got right now.

  21. Dang it Alece…

I come here because I have grown to love you. But also because I admire and trust your friendship. You are one to lead by example and sacrifice and surrender. I have admired all these things and I hope that I can be as good of friend to you as you have already been to me.

  23. Bryan says:

    Oh, I forgot the hat.

  24. I’m totally losing the words in how to respond to y’all in this… with this…

    Thank you. Really.
And thank you some more. This has grown to be a surprising little string of comments for me.

  25. Susan says:

You write about everything! Never a dull moment. It is a very ‘real’ blog and it’s just fun “reading” a talented girl grow up. Carry on!

  26. Dan says:

love the hilarious topics and comments and at time serious discussion.

  27. I hope I can live up to your random expectations… Now to find something random for tomorrow’s post.
What to do? What to do?

  28. Jenni Catron says:

’cause I like you… you make me smile…

  29. for the love of all things wonderful, mandy mac…it’s b/c you lured me in with cyber chocolate…i think.

  30. i CAME because you were bad-mouthing that Sweetie Tam…

I stayed because i love your humoUr, your endearing Southern Accent ( don’t evvah be ashamed of it Hun!), your openness, your honesty, your amazing blog-stats, your friendliness, your talent as a musician and because of Whatever Wednesday – that was fun, while it lasted! :-)

( and because you ask good questions!) :-)

    <B

  31. Louise says:

because you’re becoming. And it’s beautiful to watch

  32. Jim2 says:

    Because Tam told me to.
