Home Sweet Home-away-from-home

I’m here!!!

I was more excited about this trip than I anticipated! Haven’t slept 5 consecutive  hours in the past 72… But have managed to scrape together enough sleep to keep my eyes open. Now that I’m here and settled, I’m calming into the routines of the Hodge Lodge.

Let me say, for the record, they are HYSTERICAL. Add me to the list of people who are convinced they should have a reality TV show. Y’all just don’t understand. And reciting the story of how Kota made me laugh ’til I wet my pants, well, it just wouldn’t do that boy justice. He’s unspeakably funny. We grabbed a snip of his antics last night. By then, we’d been laughing for an hour, plus I’d been awake for nearly 24. The video doesn’t even make sense, but you can watch if you wanna! :)

I’ve also spent song after song listening to Kass play and sing. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a first-hand connection with someone so talented. 14 years old and she can do things musically and vocally that I’d pay GOOD MONEY to do. HECK. I’d pay GOOD MONEY to hear someone else do it. And she sings here for free. uh-may-zing

Brent, of course, is incessantly bugging the crap out of me. But I dish it right back! So we’re about even at the moment…

Tam and I have some great conversations already – about family – about growing up – about past regrets – about chasing dreams – about writing – about blogging…

I’m trying to talk her into singing back up for me on the song – Life Is What It Is – and do a video for y’all! I think I’ve got a full song out of it now. Your comments were so dang helpful!

Of course, I’ll be posting more of all this madness later.

  1. Aaaaaaw… you’re making me miss my girls! I have some friends that I’ve met (over the net) and we get together once every two or three years. It’s been three and counting now since our last gathering…how I miss them! We talk and chat everyday… but still… not the same as getting to hang out and giggle hysterically for hours on end, is it? :) Have a GREAT time! Can’t wait to hear the song!

  3. Now that I’ve met you in the flesh I can say you didn’t look like you only had 5 hrs sleep. I only imagined it was so!

Hey! You’re the same height as Kass!!

BTW, thank you for the worship time this morning… yes, we are indeed blessed!!!

  4. Just a note before I’m off to bed:

TAM… please sing back up on the song that she inadvertently made me feel was about my life. PLEASE. And even though the song really isn’t about me, I could totally pretend like it was with the two of you singing it.

Do it for me, k? :) Thanks.

  5. ALECE!!! You’re in so much trouble. For the record, that’s the worst I think I’ve ever looked traveling. But, I really wanted to get some sleep on the 7 hr plane ride. Hence, the sweats.

Gitz: It’s on our list! ;)
