I don’t know what just happened.

Suddenly, I’m getting hit with questions about “my new CD.”

And I don’t blame you. This whole “project” has morphed into something I wasn’t planning. Did I just call it a project? Um. It was supposed to be a creative session to maybe churn out a half-dozen demos of my best work. Didn’t see this coming at all…

Here’s how things went down: Brent surprised me by recording ONE of my songs in the fall, and I loved it so much that I begged him to do some more. He said “fly out and we’ll see what we can get through.”  So I packed my bags, collected 9 possible songs (even though he said we were aiming for 4 to 7 max) and headed to Oregon.

Y’all… I didn’t even bring my guitar.

We spent the week working through stuff – pulled together his band to play on some of the songs – talked about CD design, marketing, photos -  came out with TEN decent songs, a really FUN photoshoot, and plans for how to finalize everything in the next few months.

So.

Yeah.

I guess I’m working on a new CD right now…?

iTunes, here I come.

  1. i love seeing how much you’ve grown, in just this area alone, over the past year. you’ve gained so much confidence in the gift God gave you. and i’m glad i get to be on the receiving end of that.

i’m proud of you. and i love you a lot.

  2. that means that YOU didn’t orchestrate it…SOMEONE else did…Who’s thoughts are much higher than ours…and i’m not referring to brent…

    that’s AWESOME!!!

  3. I just got back from my walk (still out of breath), no I am not going to rub it in that the beach was was gorgeous this morning and it’s warmish water over my feet… I came back to say something…

It’s amazing you know… How incredible God is !moving…
    stirring…
    mixing…

like the shifting sand as the waves take it once
    again.

I’m so encouraged to know that our God is wonderfully blessing my girlfriend.

  4. I am so excited for you! I loved hearing you sing. You are a talented. This is going to be an amazing year for you! Can’t wait to see the amazing things God does though and in you in 2009!

  5. so exciting, very excited for you!! you are inadvertently pushing me to keep writing and keep going. I’m a slow poke when it comes to song writing. I get the inspiration part, but need to work more on perspiring and getting things completed. I love how you are interacting with your blog community in your songwriting at different stages. I’m afraid to put too much of my material online, primarily lyrics at this point, mainly because I don’t want my hard work to be stolen. I know I asked you about the copyright stuff before…but how do you deal with the in between time…and your songs going into cyberspace…?
