“seeming to do” something

Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing. ~Thomas Edison

At this time in my life, I’m working towards the purpose of becoming a better songwriter… Much of my time and energy is devoted to this goal. Streamlined.

What about you? What’s your purpose right now?

definitely photography, as in doing it for money. I’ve learned a lot and have a long way to go, but come this spring I hope to book some sessions and learn some more.

And? Can I say more? K, I’m getting my piano tuned and fixed up so perhaps maybe I can write some more songs. I feel them clunking around in there and I want my instrument to be ready when they start coming out.

But seriously, listening to God. Seeking Him. I am doing all the other stuff, but that’s most important right now. I’ve got too much to think about. And the only way I can do this…is to do nothing. I’m not good a that.

@louise: I don’t have a de-wrinkle mode on my dryer, but I used Downy Wrinkle Release on the clothes I hang-dry and it’s like a miracle from God himself. I have an iron. Somewhere. I think. My brother used it once when he was here four years ago.

I don’t know where I put my purpose, but if you find it, could you let me know where it is? thanks.

  26. Marisa says:

After you find gitz’s, can you look for mine?

I am understanding that this time in my life has a purpose of knowing the God I sing about, teach about, and read about better than Ive ever known Him before. Only then, can I truly understand what my purpose is.

  30. Lori Jo says:

trying to figure out what the heck God is trying to get through to me in this frustrating time in my life and desperately seeking His direction, wisdom, guidance and courage. I’ve just spent a week of vacation with my mom, just getting away and reevaluating..refocusing…trying to see what I’m missing, what pieces I’m ignoring or what my next steps are supposed to be.
