I too, hate grocery shopping. Especially Mon. morning since all the groceries have been closed since 4pm on Saturday.
So I always go at the lunch hour. Because they, the Swiss, are all at home/in restaurant eating lunch. Swiss kids go home from school to eat lunch and it’s expected the moms are home to cook it. It is an exception if a school has an on site lunch program available.
Thank you God for providing Int’l school.

We only have this problem when the tourists pour into town at Easter and Christmas holidays. Then we shop at 7am to avoid the rush.

I miss London where I just ordered everything online and it pitched up at my door the next day – or whenever I wanted it delivered. Those were the days.

I’m late….again….but better late than never. This post and the laundry post cracked me up! (i’m laughing at your humor…not AT you!).

this is what i’ve noticed about grocery stores….other shoppers are so RUDE! i simply do not understand. do they think the cart is a car and that they can cut me off and i’m not going to think anything of it? I’M STANDING RIGHT THERE! i’m floored every time i go grocery shopping. rude people…..bleh!

I get all my groceries for 2 wks every other Saturday, drive about 15 min away to the no-frills/no bags store that saves me at least 1/2 what I would pay at any of the other stores! Get there early and never deal with anyone!!

i quit wal-mart because after working there for 3 years I developed an anxiety disorder and quit the day I had dreadful reoccuring panick attacks. Let me tell you, THAT was embarrassing let alone frightening too for the customer I imagine, considering it’s usually the customer who is having the panick attacks (thinking of watching them, as a Cashier, try and put their change away quickly or covering up there pin when using debit.). I’m glad, so glad I don’t have to practically “live” with the act of Customer-Service right now.

“I’ll drive the extra 3.5 minutes to this one”. That statement shows how fast paced our world has become. Imagine all the important things you won’t get done because of losing thoese 3.5 minutes.

Not to be a sexist but there should be a “shopping cart aisle driving school” for all the women, and alright the occasional old timer, who pays no attention to where they are going. I have learned to look both ways, three times, before moving into a new aisle.

It also seems to me that most delays at check-out are from women looking through their pocket books for change or their checkbook. Why do they have to wait until the cashier is finished before they start looking for their checkbook? Why can’t they fill out everything but the amount beforehand?

Not to rub it in, but to rub it in being retired means I can spend all day having a pleasant chat with the person behind me while waiting at the check-out, even when it’s more than 3.5 minutes.
