A New World

“Each friend represents a world in us,
a world possibly not born until they arrive,
and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”
~ Ana Nin

  1. i’ve been taken by surprise by a new friendship.

surprised because my friend is at once both disarming and fierce. surprised because she’s so quickly nested in my heart and welcomed me into hers. surprised because of how much she’s trusted me and how recklessly i find myself trusting her. me… the one who “doesn’t” trust. surprised by how i see God’s heart for me reflected in her heart for me. surprised by how she’s shown me God’s character simply by being herself.

her friendship has opened my eyes to see myself more like He sees me, opened my ears to hear His truth as though for the first time, opened my heart to believe i am enough.

her friendship has drawn out the best version of me.

  2. A sense of hope…
    a sense of dependacy…..
A sense of stillness or in quietness..
A sense of God so ever intratwined.

Actually I just blogged about this last night.

I love these friendships and they make me just stop and Praise God for giving me such a gift.

  3. My friend teaches just by living, yet when words are spoken they ooze wisdom.

My friend has provided a place where I know I’ll always be comfortable…I know I’ll be understood.

My friend has given me a hope for a better tomorrow.

  4. That’s a great quote. A new world…I’m going to have to think on this for a while. But I will say that I have several friends who have made me less uptight and more confident – more able to just be ME.

  5. Sorry, can’t answer any deep questions becuase I now have “A Whole New World” from Aladin running through my head. Thanks Mandy… How will I ever get this song unstuck from my head?

  6. I cannot even believe you posted this. Seriously.

I have had this quote since I was a freshman IN HIGHSCHOOL. Anais Nin. I will always remember it. It’s is my favorite of favorites of favorites. I read the first three words and new what you had posted. I still have the paper I wrote it on and doodled around it. I could cry right now that someone else understands what this quote means. I have it memorized and say it to myself often. It means so much to my heart.

Blogging has definately brought about new worlds.

Right now, reading this, I am happy.
