Further, neither Arlo nor Woodie were a massive element of pop music during my lifetime (Although ELO did put out a few ‘Big’ Hits in the Seventies often played on radio after that time) and somehow i’d heard of them even though they are American (where you happen to come from i believe?) and to the best of my limited knowledge never spent much time in either England, where i spent the first part of my childhood, nor in Australia where i lived the rest of life so far.

There is no reason to assume that i am anything other than surprised that i had known of them and you apparently did not.

I just believed they were somewhat ‘famous’ and if there fame had spread all the way down here it might have found it’s way to you also.

Woodie was Arlo’s father and his best known song is probably “This Land Is Your Land”, which is regularly sung in American schools even today i believe. Arlo currently lives in Washington, Massachusetts (do you know it?) and his most popular song was ‘Alice’s Restaurant (Msssacre)’ one of the longest ever songs to gain any kind of international ‘popularity’ (longer even tha Don Mclean’s American Pie)- it’s amazing what you can find on the ‘net

I believe your talent to create music is superior to my talent for remembering trivia. I’m sorry of my humour doesn’t always ‘fit’ on your radar.

i’m not a fan of Hector – i pointed out that i like YOUR work, not his!

i know it is so easy to do when there is no face to face contact, but it is of no ‘comfort’ to me when people misunderstand what i write or have to comment on.

I like the contrast between the fast pace of the synth and the slower pace of the lyric/chorus.

It really seems to give the image of ‘buzzy’, busy bees working hard flappin their wings like crazy while ‘bumbling’ slowly along from flower to flower to gather the nectar.

I hope you cut this song ‘short’ ( 2.29 ain’t so long) as per David’s noticing in order to leave room for the ‘other’ songs to continue Hector and Honey’s story?

You’ve never heard of Arlo (or Woodie?) Guthrie? Electric Light Orchestra?? Modern education standards seem to be sadly lacking over there… or did you cut school to practice your gee-tar playing?
