My husband is my hero, not just because he once fought off two sharks while diving with a spear, but mainly because he’s brave enough to dive deeply into my delicately complicated heart.

This is so beautiful! Both in the fact that you married a warrior & that you have a delicately complicated heart. I think that only a warrior is able to understand a heart like that, which means you’re a perfect match.
Oh no! Am I supposed to comment in one sentence? I must work on this.
God has sure given you a gift Mandy girl!!!
He sounds from all the posts you have ever written a man whom loves, provides, and is sensitive to life.
wow
Okay, I’m going to miss the point entirely… but wow! fought off two sharks – that’s pretty amazing (I’ve never even seen a shark, thank goodness, outside of an aquarium). It is also pretty amazing when someone desires to know us in a loving manner, I’m thankful for Joanna and how she puts up with my quirks and stupid jokes- everyone else would have been long gone. One sentence would never work for me Mandy…
“stupid jokes” – you? naahhhh…..
yeah… only on days that end in “Y”
Okay…the two sharks, did you make that up???
I have a husband who is willing to delve into my heart, as well. I know the amazing gift you’ve been given. It is good to be loved like that.
It’s true.
He really actually did. That was before I knew him, back when he spent his summers either sailing the Bahamas, or climbing that really tall mountain in Africa, or backpacking through Europe, or hanging out in Iceland. Stuff like that.
I wish I was lying, but I’m not.
Seriously? Why does he never talk about these things? You guys need to come over for dinner so Drew can tell stories.
Will you have room in that apartment for two more people?
My gracious! Did you marry a superhero or was he in the military?! Yeah, he needs to blog about that stuff.
AND he’s a ballroom dancer!?!?!?!?!?!
You know, some things are too good to be true. I’m afraid I’m still a bit skeptical.
haha! I’m serious. I’m not making any of this up. If I’ve vowed ANYTHING on this blog, it’s to be honest… Every bit of this is true. He wasn’t military. He was a college scholar in this special program where they got grants every summer to travel all over the world. (He’s gonna kill me for telling all this!)
Okay…I believe you.
That’s really cool.
(Don’t kill her, Drew! She’s honoring you.)
He needs to blog about all those things!!! That is amazing!!!
He’s strangely humble about these kinds of stories. Doesn’t go advertising them much at all.
Ummmm, CHILLS.
Husbands are amazing. I love that my husband pays very close attention to everything about me. I am pretty sure he knows me better than I know myself.
“better than I know myself”
Ditto that, Samantha. I know exactly what you’re talking about…
but now i want to read more! will you expand on this one sentence sometime?
Um. I’m gonna have to ask permission first.
I think I might be able to fight off two sharks myself, if I could survive having a heart attack from just being in the water with two sharks.
I love the beach but have not gone in the water since I saw Jaws.
You do have a brave heart. Given a choice between singing in front of an audience, or fighting two sharks, I’ll take the sharks.
UPDATE!
I told Drew that some of you didn’t believe me. I think I’ve talked him into telling y’all the stories himself. Video, maybe? We’ll see!
Video video video video video video…
It’s much more fun (‘course, I’m biased)
Mandy…this is such an encouraging post. It is so great to have those around you who know you so intimately like the Father. I can’t wait to find that man!
“my delicately complicated heart”
well-said, friend.
