28: Aunt Marvel (Hector’s Super-Hero Aunt),

Yesterday we were there to experience Hector’s proposal to Honey.
Today we get to meet Honey’s crazy Aunt Marvel:

I have to say that this “old-school-super-hero-theme-song” concept seemed more impossible than anything I’ve even dreamed of putting together this year. Drew, yet again, challenged me beyond what I thought I could accomplish.

And I’m glad he did.

Thanks to my twitter-friend, Aunt Marvel, for giving me the idea for this name.

  1. Fantastic Mandy. I love the Latin beat. The background vocals remained me of Frank Zappa’s “Montana” where he went to raise dental floss.

One superhero from my childhood was Capt. Marvel, he had superpowers but invisibility wasn’t one of them. I wonder if he and Aunt Marvel are related?

  2. seriously! so creative, friend. i bet you had some fun making this one!

[can i make a comment about the grooveshark thing? it's a bummer not seeing how long the clip is and how far i am in it... might keep people from pushing play... or listening all the way through.]

    • I know… I thought about that as well. But the songs get blocked for some when I use a free hosting site with the other player.
What to do? Let them get blocked by our seminary, et al? or minus the minute counter?

  3. Where’d she gooo?

You and Drew are a truly Awesome (slightly frightening??) creative song-writing team :-)

i like the counter-point of these fun songs to some of your more ‘classic and ‘serious’ stuff.

I think the combination can only improve you as a writer.

Not sure which has the greater potential for public acclaim though – not that that should ever be your only ‘goal’ as a songwriter!

Songs should always express some part of you – of your ‘soul’.
