This weekend, Drew and I attended a beautiful wedding. He was one of the officiants (ministers) and I sang in the wedding.
Drew had the unspeakable privilege of writing their vows:
(from the groom, to the bride) I promise, before God and our family and friends, to love you as your husband, to be faithful to you always, to put our marriage before every other earthly relationship, to do what it takes to keep Christ at the center of our marriage, and to encourage you to love and follow him always.
(from the bride, to the groom) I promise, before God and our family and friends, to respect you as your wife, to be faithful to you always, to put our marriage before every other earthly relationship, to do what it takes to keep Christ at the center of our marriage, and to encourage you to love and follow him always.
Tears came to my eyes as I listened to my husband’s words signifying the beauty, grace, and holiness of marriage. I’m so glad I married him. Every time we attend a wedding, my heart makes those promises all over again.
beautiful and blessed. it doesn’t get any better than that.
I love this.
so much.
and you are gorgeous. =)
adorable!
P.S. I want to hear the Southern twang in real life!
Coffee/lunch at the end of the week?
Care to you
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are such beautiful words – thank you for sharing them with us Mandy.
And I worked out who Drew reminds me of (apart from Matt McC) – the guy from the Flutter video.
You’re welcome! but what’s the flutter video…?
Sorry, that was very presumptuous of me wasn’t it…I just didn’t realise anyone on Twitter had missed the Flutter video…
here you go!
hiLARious video.
OH YEAH!!! I forgot about that. LOL!!!
How did I miss THAT scene? I would’ve played the appropriate musical background on the piano.
As always, enjoyed doing music 2gether!
I heard plenty of your appropriate music during the rehearsal! haahaha Thanks for playing. I’m so glad we got to do that again.
Thanks for sharing a meaningful and important segment of your weekend with us. It never hurts to get a reminder of what it’s all about and refresh our perspective on marriage. Thank you!
Beautiful. Are you sitting on a phone book?
Shut it.
This actually brought alot of tears to my eyes.
Love is so described here.
Makes me cry, too, H.
love the pic. i do the same thing with my hubby at every wedding. i especially love when i’m a bridesmaid, and he’s in the audience. i can hardly keep my eyes on the bride and groom for wanting to stare at him the whole time.
That picture is hot!!
Your mom’s hot.
Marriage is hott.
That is a beautiful picture. Think of how many future couples you and Drew will help start on their marriage.
Once Drew graduates, and becomes a full time minister, you may need a bigger wardrobe with all the weddings, and other church functions, you will be attending.
Ed, you’re right about the wardrobe! How many times can I wear that dress this summer?!
Thinking about our influence on future couples is quite intimidating you know… whew. I don’t know if I’m up for being a pastor’s wife.
This makes me sooooooooooooo happy!
this is a beautiful post…whenever i attend a wedding, i also relive my vows and re- I DO in my head and heart. A beautiful union created by God, to reflect the greater Wedding in Heaven…ooooooh i got goosebumps on that one…sorry i am always a day late and a dollar short!
does drew only have a mustache? no other facial hair?
that’s a framer!
