A few days ago, I spent some time thinking about the wonderful relationships that I’ve formed just by having a blog, and by the amazing friends that I’m able to keep up with by reading their online “diaries” of blogging…
And I am thankful.
I’m thankful that a man that lives 3,000 miles away from me is producing my new album, with killer musicians and an amazing vision for my songs. And I’m thankful that a friend who is a professional designer is churning up some amazing cover art for this very project, using pictures that another blog friend, an amazing photographer, spent time working on to get just right.
All of these men are a part of my destiny because of the blogging world. I’ve met every one of them through blogging.
I’m thankful that you will take the time out of your busy and over-committed day just to listen and give thoughtful feedback to my latest songwriting endeavor. And, when I need it, you cheer me on. You leave a comment. You send an email. You stop me in the hallway at work and school. This community has shaped me as an artist and an individual.
So I just wanted to say thank you.
A thousand thank yous.
And thank you for having us
And for listening
and allowing us to stand with you filling in the gaps
Y’all are so special to me. Thank YOU!
(Makes me think of an old George Carlin routine: “Why, thank you!” “No, thank you!” etc., etc.)
Seriously:
Mandy, you spur me on with your tenacity and authenticity. Your vulnerability encourages me to be brave in my “online diary.”
And your MUSIC!!! We’re part of your creative process. What a privilege!
When I haven’t posted a blog in awhile, you have emailed me and asked “Where are you?”
That’s being the Body.
So thank YOU.
Like I said… Y’all are special to me. Thanks for your continued support & encouragement, Candi.
You’ve been amazingly welcoming and supportive of my wife Amanda and I as we’ve interacted with you, laughed really hard at your jokes, been wowed by your music and just generally sensed we’ve gained another genuine friend we have yet to meet.
You enrich our lives and we hope we do the same for you.
As for blog posts, Amanda’s a pretty regular blogger and mine happen randomly, though I hope to correct that soon.
Thanks for all you do, just being you.
Thank you for sharing all your beautiful music with me.
Thank you for helping to make me feel welcome in this blogging community we are building.
It amazes me that when I was growing up, it was a big deal to talk on the telephone with someone way over in Pennsylvania. Now I blog with one friend in Australia, our friend Love, http://lovewillbringustogether.wordpress.com/ and another in South Africa, my new friend Rain, http://ivyrain.wordpress.com/ .
Blogging is helping to break down those barriers that seperate us. We are building one world community, one blog at a time.
Right on, edfromct; blogging and social media are disintegrating many walls.
Your cool and it’s been a blast following you.
I am ashamed that I have not seen this post till now.
I am so honored to even be allowed to be a part of your music and life. I am grateful that Tam has gotten to know you and in turn, I’ve gotten to know you. I cannot wait for the day that I get to know Drew as well. I am praying for that face to face opportunity.
And, I am so humbled that you would allow me to mess with your music. Your songs are special and something very important to you and you have given me the privilege of working on them. And, I am…even thought time is passing
Can’t wait to see the whole thing together!!!
Brent: I will forever thank YOU for this project. Can’t wait either.
I am beyond stoked to be included in this fun. I cant wait to see how everything turns out. THANKS!
