I can’t remember the last time I bought a CD

I went to a small coffee shop show on Friday night. I was mesmerized by this little 26 year old chick who had a voice of sugared lightning and a heart the size of a watermelon. She’s an incredible songwriter, captivating performer, and sincere messenger.

She travels the country in her car, singing for anyone who can listen… And I did. WHAT a story she shared with us in 60 minutes. It was like magic. I had no choice but to listen to her. Soak in everything she wanted to tell us.

I thought about just giving her the few bills I had in my purse, because I so desperately wanted to support her ministry and music. But, instead, I thought I could learn a few things from her songwriting abilities, so I handed her manager $10 and grabbed a CD.

Alisa Turner, ladies and gentlemen. Book her. You want to what she’s got to say.

  1. I’m with Kristi. Unreal. SOOO good!!! BTW – what kind of keyboard was she playing? I’m in the market for a nice digital stage piano and in my rural area it’s difficult to go and sample the goods….Do you have any suggestions?

    • Ed. You’ve hit it exactly… Imagine what it was like for me to actually hear her sing this song LIVE. It’s even more powerful and captivating. Captivating is the best word to describe her talent.

  2. still listening…
i could play her music over and over and over again.

and i am not too quickly impressed. i’m not hard to please, i’m not too critical, but i’m just not often very impressed, does that make sense?

i love all music, but it takes something special to really capture me. her intonation, creativity, lyrics, chord progressions, nods to the romantic piano/art song style, strength of vocal tone, her musicality on the keyboard, and her heart….all of that TOTALLY won me.
