He’d rather have silence than music.

It’s true. My husband doesn’t really like music at all. His favorite radio station? NPR – when they aren’t playing music!

In his words: “If someone called me up and said that some band named U2 was playing a free concert in our area and I was the only person invited to the concert, I still wouldn’t go. Even if I didn’t have anything to do that day. I’d rather stay home & read.”

I know.

I KNOW!

How in the WORLD did I EVER fall in love with a music-hater??!!?

Well, it’s simple: What he lacks in musical passion, he more-than-makes-up-for in personality, talent, sense of humor, charm, faith, maturity, sensitivity, wisdom, and responsibility.

Yeah, he’d rather have silence than music. But I’d rather have him than a musician.

  1. “some band named U2″… ha ha! guess he won’t be wanting to see my killer close-up shots from my crazy U2 concert experience!

makes me shake my head that’s he’s so not a music guy. but dang, i like your drew! he makes up for the non-music thing with his goofy voices, unbelievable stories, and the fact that he got pulled over on a bike.

(can you tell how much i love getting to spend all this time with y’all?!)

  2. Oddly, I can relate. I say oddly, because I’m a singer/songwriter/worship leader/musician/rapper kind of guy.

When I’m in the car, though, give me Francis Chan or Dave Ramsey or just about ANY talk radio over music ALL DAY LONG!

I’m a musician who gets tired of commercial music VERY fast. I don’t enjoy CCM. I don’t enjoy Top 40 pop. I don’t enjoy much consumer driven music at all.

On the other hand, I do enjoy music from different eras WAAAY more than I do modern music (for my listening pleasure). I’ll take Beethoven, Bach, and Haydn over the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gag (intentional), or JayZ.
