I would have sworn your house would burn down with all that paper….really though. Or your face would burn off. You should really practice just rubbing sticks together…much more entertainment value .
Oh, ummmm the FLUE??? I seriously had to google that cuz I thought you were outa ur mind. I guess you’re right though…it is indeed a FLUE.
Was it too much paper? I just don’t know. Before he left for work, Drew saw my stack of papers & said it wasn’t enough, so I got out the paper towels and envelopes and take-out menus. sheesh…..
Thanks for the “fire-side chat” – i plan to go out shortly and ride bike!! I use that as prayer time and thinking time – so I will be praying for you as I ride through the country side.
So my munchkins were hanging out in my room as I was checking my blogs. When they heard ‘boys and girls’ they when from jut hanging out to hovering over my shoulder, at my leg and as close to the screen as they possibly could so as not to miss one bit of this G rated video. Maybe I miss rated it though. Maybe it would be better to say it is PG because directly after hearing such clear and explicit instructions and seeing it demonstrated with such perfection and by such a fun, interactive hostess I bet you can just imagine what the next question was. Yes. You are right. “Can we do that!” They especially enjoyed the side convo about Monday vs. Saturday. You had them laughing and wanting to create… um, fire. We do happen to have a fire place with a chimney and a flue and everything. There is also an electric plug on the inside wall of the fireplace so I haven’t yet dared to try to use it. All my kids are trying to figure out just how we can make. this. happen. Ha! So fun.
i love this and you are too cute! totally makes me want to go try to make a fire….i’ve never made one. they kind of scare me. the whole catching on fire thing is not ideal.
Yeah. So, my dad called this evening after he watched the vid. Said the whole time he just kept worrying that the “damper” (flue) wasn’t open! I reassured him that if my house had burned down yesterday, he’d know it by now. haha
Lol!! You are funny!! In a good way I promise And man you were having fun with that paper. I’ve built a few fires myself and I always think it’s so much fun ’cause then afterwards you can just sit there and watch the logs burn and it is sooo awesomely warm. I agree very inspiring!

I know! I loved it SO much that I checked the weather to see when our next unseasonably cold day will be. And, it probably won’t happen again in November.
If you want cold so you can build another fire you’re more than welcome to come here to South Dakota where you can get all the cold you want…and then some! Lol.
That is very sad though that there might not be any more in November, I’ll try to get some of our cold to go your way.

Listen, I’m obviously not a fireplace aficionado. I didn’t even know what a FLUE was. It worked, right?
It so totally worked!!

You make me laugh! Outloud! About the “boys and girls” response. Oops. I’m so sorry. Completely unintended consequence on my part.
But the marshmallows?? Brilliant.

South Dakota??? No way girlfriend. There’s only one thing I can think of that’s colder than South Dakota.
