Hey girlie! I’d be interested to hear what He tells you. And sometimes the clues can be found in what we like, what we’re passionate about, and what gets us all fired up.
You’re so right Ed. I think that’s why God’s answer to Moses was “I Am.” And the Bible says we were made in God’s image, so the “I am” is a part of our psyche as well… Something to think about…
wow. love that and the quote in the intro is so challenging. i think it’s challenging for me too when you have things you long to be and desires that you’re still waiting to become…you know He’s made you that way but you have to wait to see it played out. and yet it all comes back to the core identity of being His.
Yes and yes and yes, Katy. Waiting to become. I like how you said that. But we already are, all at the same time. I like the phrase “self-actualization” even though it’s sorta new-agey. It works for me.
hmmm… That book is very much written for the creative who’s trying to own his own creativity. I wish I could think of another book that addresses who we are in our individuality — not just for that one specific personality type.
For the creative…that would definitely be me. Unfortunately, the creative bound by legalism can easily become squashed…and then, others can’t really see what is beneath.
I might be a good example of the creative who lost sight of being.
Wow. That kicked me right in the gut. In a good way.
Here’s a question I ponder from time to time. Have you ever felt that what you should be is in nearly direct opposition to who you are and that nearly everything you face is intended to derail you from becoming that? Almost like living the life you have is the obstacle you must overcome to fully realize your potential.
It’s been a very very very long day for me, but I’m gonna try to wrap my mind around your question aaaaannnnd I think my answer is no, believe it or not. yeah there are a lot of distractions and pulls out there. But I also see that between God & my husband, I’m given some surprising and inspiring and freeing support in “becoming” me. And I know that is a rarity, so I’m intensely grateful.
We are all so blessed and God wants us to serve. Mama And I love Him so much. Great job Mandy.
Thanks Papa!
I am late to the party.
Ha.
Funny!!! hahaha
Nice!
Don’t know if you noticed, but I slowed yours down a bit.
Cool. Someone actually used the “word” that first came to my mind when at re:create. I couldn’t write it down, though. Any guesses?!
“unsure”?
That’d be my guess as well!

Awesome, Mandy! Sounds like a great book. I need to get to work asking God who I am!!
Hey girlie!

When Randy asked us this question at ReCreate, I wrote “seeking”. I think I still am, but at least I’ve narrowed down what it IS that I’m seeking…
Amen sister…
wow.
that was powerful.
ditto what Tam said.
The lump in my throat got bigger & bigger as I edited & spliced & diced. I was actually afraid it’d be too intense, but — eh — I got over it.
intense it was. but the perfect kind.
well done, mandy.
well done everyone!
It wasn’t me. It was what happened when I started stringing those answers together. Beautifully serendipitous.
I am left wondering how Bernard beat me to even that line.
I am going to have to look for that book though.
It’s worth the read, Ric! I’m not a reader, but it’s a teeny book and is packed FULL of insight.
You did a really great job on the video, Mandy.
It was all iMovie magic, friend.
What an amamzing, beautiful, video. Five stars, two thumbs up, Oscar worthy.
If an alien from outer space came to earth and asked what are humans the answer is in “I am”

Ps: That was my 6th take of the reading… Over two whole days of trying. sheesh
very, very cool!
Very very thanks for being a part of it.
SUCH an amazing video. Saw a few (imaginary) friends there! Beautiful job, Mandy.
Hey Candy!!!
Thanks for watching. and for your words.
i thought about it a few times and just got lazy. but my answer is: becoming whole.
that would’ve been fun to put on the vid, Lori Jo. Next time….
sowie. i’ll try and get my act together next time
suuuuuure.
Just kidding. No worries. There’ll be future opportunities.
This is taking a whole lot of courage to come on here and write.
But, My answer would be I am forgiven.
I like that answer.
Thanks.

Very cool. I’ve watched it a couple of times now.
I wish I had an answer…that’s why I didn’t participate. Maybe I should read the book.
Good job, Mandy!

Oh then you DEFINITELY need to read this book, Red. Definitely
