I would be thankful to have a glass of anything in my prego state. However, I typically prefer red unless it’s the afternoon and I’m outside on a day much like the days we’ve been having lately.
red wine feels better to me… for book reading, bath taking, star gazing. pinot noir would have to be the fav. although i can rock it out with a good merlot. white wine is actually more likely to be the culprit of a headache for me.
HOWEVER, i have some rather amazing memories with diana and friends just sittin on the porch in the fall and cold weather around a space heater passing around a bottle of pinot grigio (white) and taking turns answering questions… some silly, some deeply personal. we called it ‘the circle.’ only rules were listen when someone else was answering, and you didn’t have to answer if you didn’t want to.
i must also add that i enjoy trying anything of a local-ish descent. i have come across some good peach wine that is made in Helen, Ga. they have it at jp’s on 17 usually. and, if you’re in the mood for a ‘dessert’ wine, as they’ve been deemed… can’t beat good ol’ muscadine wine.
mandy: you may be interested in chocovine. google it. long time ago when i tried it, the guy at jp’s told me it tasted like yoo-hoo. this is not the case. and although i love yoo-hoo and would’ve been down for that, wine should otherwise taste like….
wine.
haha! it’s fabulous though, to see that commentary all spill out. That whole sitting around the porch situation sounds a lot like my group therapy time. Well, except we didn’t have wine.
heh heh heh… I love cupcake, but am not a merlot girl. too much for me. BUT, I recently had Chocolate/Merlot icecream (yes, made with real merlot) and could actually waft in the taste of the wine. It. Was. Awesome. in a tannin-less way!
regarding the local-ish peach comment… I seem to recall finding a local-ish peach something in a mason jar at my mom’s house a couple years back. it was VERY local… and decidedly not wine. but delicious none the less. but that’s a different post I guess.
Samuel Adams.
Or a single malt Balvenie doublewood aged 12 years.
No idea what that second sentence is about! But Drew kinda fell in love with Sam Adams when we were up near Boston!
Rose
mmmmmmm

Okay you bring the cupcakes I’ll bring the wine.

And, if not red, then …?

i was the orchestrator. go figure.
Sadly red’s give me headaches. So either white or rose. A nice dessert wine is good too.
That’s true. Certain wines make my brain blood vessels feel all thick & sluggish.
You heathen, why do you ask this question? kidding, KIDDING!
Red. My wife prefers Cupcake Merlot . I concur!
