    working good for me…not cheesy…definitely friendly…

what are you using? this would be sweet to use…so far i’ve not been able to post my album with wordpress…files to big i assume?

  • jon mark // July 25, 2008 at 4:19 pm

    i spoke too soon…1 and 3 play, no 2 or 4

  • mandythompson // July 25, 2008 at 4:24 pm

HEY MUSIC MAN! thanks for the feedback!
yeah… there’s a delay in the songs sometimes - i think it has more to do with my host than with the player. i haven’t figured that part out yet.

i’m building this via sproutbuilder, hosting songs on musicwebtown.com, and posting via the vodpod choice in “post a video” (but you have to add the firefox post-to-wordpress button add-on thingy).

i just started it yesterday evening. and am AMAZED at the fact that it’s actually working.

  • jon mark // July 25, 2008 at 4:29 pm

i’m on vacation next week…maybe i’ll have some time to tinker with this and see about adding it on my site…

    THANKS!!! love the tunes!!!

  • alece // July 28, 2008 at 11:08 pm

i love the look of this page. sadly, i can’t hear any music… ????

  • TheNorEaster // July 28, 2008 at 11:22 pm

Just one suggestion: Put the works up with most recent first. You start with 2003 at the top, but then you have 2007-2008 at the bottom. I’d like to see how you improve over the years myself. ;) And most recent first would help with that.

  • TheNorEaster // July 28, 2008 at 11:23 pm

By the way…Can you post something every night for us night owls…?

  • Hutch // July 28, 2008 at 11:37 pm

    Mandy,

Cool setup. The 2007-2008 Demo buttons for Player and Song Stories are a little hard to find/read due to the text color. Don’t know if you can tweak that, but that would help usability.

The Cray buttons are legible, but I had to twist my head… :-) Maybe put ‘em in the bottom left? Again, don’t know how much you can tweak.

Lastly, thanks for sharing the music.

  • cathi stegall // July 28, 2008 at 11:59 pm

    so sexy!!! Just so sexy!

  • alece // July 29, 2008 at 12:04 am

    NOW i can hear it!!!

i agree that newer stuff should be first visible. (even though i have a feeling you did that cause they’re demos…)

i loved hearing all your songs…

  • Marisa // July 29, 2008 at 4:06 am

It worked for me the other day when I did my preliminary check out. But now that I have the time to listen to them all, it’s not working for me at all, neither in Firefox nor Safari.

    I’ll try again later!

  • mandythompson // July 29, 2008 at 8:16 am

alright alright. i’ll put the most recent stuff up first. i like that idea!

and, hutch, get your eyes checked. j/k…. hard to see buttons? i’ll change it for ya.

marisa: what time zone do you live in?

    sexy? um. wha???

…. the songs play sometimes and don’t play other times. i think it has more to do with my mp3 host site than the actual player. i’m workin’ on it.

thanks for the feedback y’all… REEEEEELLY

  • Michael // July 29, 2008 at 8:54 am

My thoughts for what they are worth…

I think the navigation buttons need to be a little bolder… at first I did not see them - especially the demo where the words are hard to read. Also, the white on blue is kinda hard to read… not bad, but kinda hard. It takes a minute for the players to load - not sure why. The song story link on Just a Girl does not work, and neither does the song story link on you make everything. The red letters over ride everything on the Cray piece except for the player piece - I think that is due to the white words again…for consistency are you going to put an “about button” on the demos?

Overall, I like the look… so these are just some thoughts.

  • mandythompson // July 29, 2008 at 9:49 am

michael: thanks for the tips… i’ll work on some text changes to make things easier to read. and do some stuff with the red words over cray. i was trying to achieve a foreground/background appearance, but the words do override the white lettering. might keep it. might not.

and those dang buttons! :) i’ll slap ‘em into shape!

  • Cindy Beall // July 29, 2008 at 2:24 pm

    Everything played but number 5 & 7.

    Not cheesy.

    User friendly.

    No glitches.

  • mandythompson // July 29, 2008 at 3:19 pm

    Cyn: 5 & 7 on which player?

  • Marisa // July 29, 2008 at 3:46 pm

    I’m on Pacific time. :)

  • mandythompson // July 29, 2008 at 3:54 pm

oh! and that only BARELY makes it better. ;)

  • Marisa // July 29, 2008 at 4:21 pm

what can i say? i’m a pro night owl. ;)

  • Kelli // July 29, 2008 at 7:01 pm

Looks great…cant hear a thing though

  • baddogmooney // July 29, 2008 at 10:45 pm

first, thanks for stopping by my site. Maybe one day they will be making their own music! Most of critique I had to offer has been addressed. the players work great (I am using mozilla as my browser). The side buttons are still a little hard to see on the Demo album.

    Peace,

    - mooney

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 1:17 am

kelli: what browser are you using? baddogmooney brings up a good point with the browser…

all y’all experimentals: what browser you using, and does the music play for you?

  • alece // July 30, 2008 at 1:22 am

    firefox.

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 1:23 am

    sneaky - you found me

  • alece // July 30, 2008 at 1:37 am

    no worries…

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 1:39 am

    **UPDATES 8/29/08**
Michael: i went with your tips on the Cray player re: red words, white letters, buttons…

also adjusted the demo buttons to make them more visible.

and changed the order. the last shall be first, right? i was going with the more “professional” first - the “real” studio recording vs my duct-taped amateur demo act. but, the people say put the most recent first. so ok!!! :)

    thoughts?
what browser you using? does the music play for you?

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 1:53 am

    note: demo 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 cray all play.

  • lovewillbringustogether // July 30, 2008 at 12:29 pm

Bummed - i’m using I.E. Explorer ver 7.0 and am on GMT +8

    NADA! :-(

nothing loads - no music at moment :-(

I tried checking song stories on Cray and found ‘Just a Girl’ ok - opened in a new Explorer window but after i listened to the track from the blog i went back and tried again - no music ! - and when i tried another song selection for song stories it kept coming up with ‘Just a Girl’ even though that was not the song i had currently selected??

Hope i didn’t break anything? or are you doin a fixin??

Personally, i prefer the ‘look’ of demos but the player look from Cray - could you try putting the song titles in demos in Caps or a slightly bigger font?

On Cray - how about if you put the three buttons vertically alongside the player?? Keeps the mouse click area ’smaller’ for more user-friendliness?? :-)

Not sure this was a ‘help’ but i did my best Hun.

    <B

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 1:39 pm

i always LOVE your suggestions. thank you… will think through the vertical buttons, though. i had them vertical a few days ago… but the peeps that were here earlier didn’t like that.
    hmmm..
    will work on it.

and i’m wondering if the no-play is because of windows explorer

  • Marisa // July 30, 2008 at 2:00 pm

everything works for me now. looks and sounds great! :)

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 3:03 pm

    working now? yay!

i just don’t know if i wanna use the dang things if they aren’t reliable… and i’m not sure where the disconnect lies.
but i think it’s a step up from my current music page.
    thoughts?

  • jon mark // July 30, 2008 at 8:30 pm

i just have to say thanks for the info…it’s taken me awhile, but i got one up and running!!!

  • mandythompson // July 30, 2008 at 10:31 pm

    WOO HOO!!!!!
i’m doing a happy dance for you.

  • Rachel Rowell // July 30, 2008 at 10:44 pm

can’t get music to play at all! I’m bummed. I really want to hear the songs. I’ll try back again though.

  • lovewillbringustogether // August 1, 2008 at 1:46 am

tried again today - still nothing?? all the buttons ‘work’ but no music downloads and the slide never moves nor does the timer from oo:oo??

if it doesn’t work with Explorer and Explorer is the most popular browser in use at the moment it COULD be an issue?? :-)

    Ohohoh!!!

just had a thought… i am ( pray for me) using Windows VISTA ( UGHHH!! )

Vista is so NOT friendly with many ‘older’ proprietary softwares.(or hardwares or even their OWN older softwares (anything before/including XP).. does anyone else have Vista that can get the two players to work??

    <B

  • mandythompson // August 1, 2008 at 10:11 am

    Mr.Love:
bless your soul. let’s remedy this problem right here & now. (maybe - if your vista can handle it…)
go to http://www.musicwebtown.com/mandyt and you’ll find two playlists, one for each of these players… you can stream all of them. in windows, you can right click the song title and scroll down to “save as” and download the song right then & there.
    Merry Christmas, Love.
    :)

  • mandythompson // August 1, 2008 at 10:12 am

    All songs can be heard:
    http://www.musicwebtown.com/mandyt

y’all let me know if that doesn’t play either. dang internet…

  • lovewillbringustogether // August 1, 2008 at 1:41 pm

Christmas came Early down South this year :-)

Finally get to hear me more o’ Miss Mandy :-)

So if the player over THERE works on my machine…???

On another topic - i know me a couple o’ youngsters (inCahoots) on the West Coast in a bind to find music to learn and play at their first ever major Gig??? Comes up Aug 23… you know anyone who could ‘loan’ them a piece of music.. by any chance??

Airplay on the West Coast.. where all the ‘best’ music comes from/ends up….? ;-)

    TY for the link Hun.

  • lovewillbringustogether // August 2, 2008 at 1:33 am

OK - put it down to Explorer 7.0

Just tried looking on Mozilla Firefox and everything works fine… Explorer showed only one player today and now won’t even show any!

means trouble for those using Explorer i guess… poor them! :-)

Enjoy the weekend - it seems you are a little excited??

Internet Explorer no work on this page or musicwebtown for me :(. However, I can see everything clearly, so good job on the layout and visual aspects! Can’t wait to get more mandy in this new fashion.
