Aaaaaannnnddd the winner is!

Wow, somewhere between when I ate dinner and when I woke, y’all did some serious hustling to get people to this blog. The #s went crazy. People from all corners of the world awake at all hours of the night.

Y’all. Are. Crazy.

This has been WAY more fun than I ever would’ve imagined. WAYYYY.

And y’all are hyper-creative, that’s for sure.

But nobody really cares about that, do they? Y’all just wanna know who won?

@angie — a long time reader and missionary — pulled in the most votes and BAM the $10 is hers! Let’s make some dreams come true at the House of Dreams!!

Now, cousin (I don’t know how that ended up being her reader nick-name, but she was around when I was handing them out and that’s what she got) tell me where on the internet to *insert credit card here* and I’ll make it happen!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Any volunteers wanna send $10 to one or two of our runners up? Just let me know. There are some worthy endeavors on that list. And we can make some more dreams come true today.

Thanks for playing. Y’all have made my dimmish week much brighter… And it only cost me ten bucks. ;)

Winner Wednesday! It’s voting time, y’all.

Did you pay attention yesterday? We had some amazing entries into our Ten Buck Tuesday contest. Y’all are incredibly creative.

I’ve narrowed the list down to ten. And y’all get to pick the winner… yay!!!

Reminder: We’re going for the most creative AND altruistic answer. mkay?

Ready America? It’s time to cast your votes!

Ten Buck Tuesday!!

The contest? Ten bucks goes to the comment that’s the most creative and altruistic answer to this question:

If I offered you a ten dollar bill right now, what would you do with it?

Rules:

  1. Contest runs until 6am EST Wednesday morning, when I will pick the top ten answers.
  2. Community voting runs from 8am Wednesday to 6am Thursday (EST, y’all). & you will VOTE on the most creative and altruistic answer.
  3. 8am EST Thursday = I announce the winner! (or you can just pay attention to the votes to find out. yep)
  4. The winner gets Ten Bucks from southeast Georgia. (International players, oh geeze I don’t even know what to do about that yet. Suggestions?)
Alright. Here we go!

DO: search

OH OH OH!!! Y’all are gonna LOVE this!

Remember the post with all the web links that you can use for charities? ok.

Goodsearch.com was one of the links listed. It’s a search engine that donates money to different organizations with each search.

Brandy pointed out in the comments that Thrive Africa was registered with Goodsearch.com.

Thrive Africa is Alece‘s ministry/organization/thingy that develops and implements educational programs to fight the AIDS epidemic. (Al: I didn’t even have to look that up! Proud?)

Alece is a HUGE part of this little blogging community and I heart her triple times.

I’ve selected Thrive Africa to be my charity of choice, and added Goodsearch as the search engine of choice in my searchbar – and [insert Oxyclean guy's voice here] YOU CAN TOO!

Every search is a penny – and every penny adds up.

Go ahead, search away!

DO: click

I wandered over to the blog of a recent new commenter, and found the following list of websites/tools:

1) goodsearch.com – Each time you click, the charity of your choice will receive 1 cent. I know that doesn’t seem like much, but consider how much you google stuff each week. See? It can add up!

2) thehungersite.com – So, there are different buttons for different donations, and you can click the buttons to have money sent to different needs… While you’re waiting for your favorite youtube video to load, park it at this site and click away!

3) ripple.org – Ripple works in the same way that thehungersite works… You just click and money from tasteful advertising goes somewhere to somebody in need. Seriously. I tried it. You can even install a ripple searchbar or put a button on your blog. (pssst – Look in my sidebar!)

4) freerice.com – Test your vocab skills while you donate rice to those in need. The more right answers you get, the more rice goes to someone else. THIS, my friends, was fun!!!

Here’s the challenge: Bookmark one (or all) of these links in your browser. While you’re waiting to kill some time, take a moment to click.

Your clicks can change someone else’s life.

(Amber, I hope you don’t mind that I STRAIGHT OUT stole this list from you! I give you all the credit, girl!!)

WHO’S CLICKING WITH ME???
