Apples to Apples

Drew and I have been trying to get healthy this summer. Less caffeine. Less sugar (well, not the kissin’ kind). Less carbs. Less eating. More exercising.

I’m stocking up on salads and fruit.

I like fuji apples.

A lot.

I know some people might see them as a deviation from the norm, but I don’t care. I like fujis, no matter how weird you think I am. I thought they were weird, until I tried them. Sweet heaven. I left those bitter Granny Smiths behind, and I don’t regret it one bite (err, I mean, bit)!

there are times when i can eat ‘em ’til they make me sick. this might actually be a hormonal craving of mine, so i hesitate to place it in the gluttony category. that’s reserved for chips-ahoy cookies.

sliced & sprinkled in salt & pepper

diced up in a salad

etc.

so, i come home from vacation where i cheered for my plus-size model cousin to win ANTM, and THIS is what i find!?!? “somehow” my name was placed on the official list of those signing up for this challenge.

OHHHH REEEEALLY???

just so nobody gets confused: i did not sign up.

and inWorship made an effort to clear that up yesterday, thank you oh-so-much. but we’ll see how it goes.

i dropped my ten pounds earlier this year, which was NO small feat considering how stagnant the winter months in New England can be. but i don’t really need to drop more.

and how am i keeping it off?

  • no more chips-ahoy cookies (well, except during vacation)
  • no more oversized meal servings (well, except for my mama’s cooking)
  • no more wine :shock: (well, except for vacation or sometimes other than vacation – and then only two glasses – that’s my limit)
  • exercising at the gym/outdoors – will be getting back into that soon. yay
  • anyone else up for the challenge?
