ww – water = darker – 3.19.08

235696308_d70e60c0cf.jpgHELLO! happy HOLY week!!!

Tam closed things out last week with a painful question: Why do things get darker when they get wet, even though water is clear?

first, WHAT kind of question is that??!! this is the best i can do, and i stole it from answers.yahoo.com: Things appear light when light rays are reflected back to your eyes, and dark when light is not reflected back. Light hitting dry pavement is scattered by the rough surface of the pavement and some of this light reflects back to your eyes. When the pavement is coated with water, some of the light that is reflected back does not get out of the water layer – part of it is reflected back to the pavement (a phenomenon called internal reflection). This reduces the amount of light that your eyes see, and the wet parts look darker.

ok. here we go: if you could be any celebrity, who would you be & why?

rules: answer the last, leave the next.
