NERDY NUMBERS!!

I have a “haven’t-met-yet” friend in town who I’ ve recently discovered is a fantastic budding blogger…

Today is in honor of her [insert round of applause here] because… well, I’m totally stealing her idea:

We’re playing the Nerdy Numbers game. It’s easy. Just use numbers to celebrate the nerd in you.

Like this:

  • 3 computer screens. Sometimes I have 3 screens going at once in my office.
  • 6 dollars and 30 cents. That’s how much my favorite mechanical pencil costs.
  • 3 of my favorite mechanical pencils. I have 3 of them. 1) the original that I found 5 years ago, scratched and dirtied on the asphalt after having been run over in the road on a side street that goes to the beach. 2) the other 1 I bought about 3 years ago (I bought 2. Lost 1). 3) the other other 1 that I bought recently after I realized I lost 1 of the 2 I bought.

Speaking of that lost pencil…

  • ZERO episodes left in Lost. Zero. Not happy about that at all.

Ok, your turn! Give me your nerdy numbers.

For all you LOST fans…

My good friend Tam has a blog.

Tam has other people posting on her blog right now.

This guy, who she knows through twitter (I know, some of y’all think we’re all a bunch of nuts), wrote a post:

Everything I Need To Know About Life I Learned Watching LOST

I think you’ll like it.

Because I did.

And, while we’re on the subject of LOST, I’m trying to forgive the writers for what they wrote Sayid into.

Really.

My TV BFFs

Why do I become emotionally attached to the fictitious characters in my favorite TV shows? Loralai, Phoebe, CJ, Kate – to name a few. [sigh] I can’t even really control this dynamic in my life. It just sort of happens. And I don’t even watch that much TV. But, when I’m sold on a series, I’m sold…

And so these people become strange elements of my thoughts. You know… Like, wondering if Kate will end up with Jack or Sawyer, for example. And I’m convinced that Kate and I would be friends in real life (just like I’m certain that Sandra Bullock and I would make GREAT friends, but she’s real, so that doesn’t count for this post).

Anyway (since y’all did an overwhelmingly amazing job of telling the www what you were watching yesterday) (and I enjoyed every comment) today we will be sharing the names of our secret TV friends.

You know you have them. The ones who you wonder about between shows. The ones you want to dress like. Or hang out with. Or you think you know.

Yes. Them.

Go on. Tell the whole wide inter-world who they are…

Warning: We’re gonna talk about LOST in this post… A lot.

Namaste.

There are a few things you need to know:

  1. Drew and I like to watch TV shows, just not when they’re on TV. So, we borrow/rent/buy the DVD sets instead.
  2. Some shows can now be viewed online as well.
  3. LOST is one of those shows.
  4. Drew and I started watching LOST back in August.
  5. We’ve watched all 5 seasons since then.
  6. Kate is my favorite. I’m sorry. But she is.
  7. Sawyer is a very close second: it’s his dimples. And long hair. And southern accent. And… never mind.
  8. We finished the finale of Season 5 on Friday.

There are two things I need to know:

  1. What the crap just happened?
  2. HOW AM I GONNA MAKE IT TO 2010 TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT???

Commence theorizing now.
