Is it Wednesday already? wow.

Ok. So we closed last week’s fantastic round of “Whatever Wednesday” with a question from Dan, who is an old college buddy of mine:

What is the biggest sleep “reducer” in your life?

What a question. Seriously. This is the right time in my life to ask that, because I’m loosing quite a bit of sleep… mainly from everything that is on my mind. Moving. Goodbyes. Hellos. And a bit of other stuff that shouldn’t flood the blog world. But, yeah, stuff on my mind.

Now for today’s Whatever Wednesday!

The rules: You answer the last & ask the next. Come back as often as you’d like, until I close the comments tomorrow morning. mkay?

I always start with the first question, so the first commenter has something to work with: What do you do when you have a hard time falling asleep?

So, the first commenter will answer that question, then leave a new question for the next commenter.

GO!

ww – my book – 5.7.08

…one day y’all are gonna realize that i don’t shut the party down ’til sometime post-breakfast on thursday mornings. the early morning stragglers always make me laugh when i shut the party down and make y’all go home. (as if…)

OH! sorry -where are my manners!?

  • Welcome to Whatever Wednesday. where we leave a string of comments that talk about whatever.
  • ok. last week Tracie closed with the following (i always answer the last question of the WW): If you were to write a book about your life, what would be the title and why?

“Just A Girl” – because that’s all i am. i actually started blogging to keep some kind of record of my life, you know, in case we might have kids and they might want to know what the world was like before they took over. (is anybody reading this?) i don’t diary. (and i don’t think anyone reads my answer on Wednesdays) so this method of “journaling” seemed to stick. yes, i realize that my blog is not as autobiographical as one would expect, but i sneak a lot of my heart into this little bloggy. if you read carefully, you’ll see it. (ok. ssshhh… listen. if you’re reading – leave a comment that ONLY says “HA!” – it’ll be our little secret. and if you don’t leave a comment, but look to see if anyone else says “HA!” then you’re just mean. and, i know you’re out there.)

  • alright. next on the list – lets explain the rules: answer the last question & leave a new one for the next commenter. oh – and you might wanna hit “refresh” before you leave your comment – that way you’ll know if someone else already beat you to the answer. SLOW TYPERS BEWARE! i’m just sayin…..
  • Now, YOU go!

WW – girl, woman, lady – 4.30.08

WELCOME TO WHATEVER WEDNESDAY – where we talk about WHATEVER – and WHATEVER is always bound to happen…

[cue game show music]

i’m officially not really sure what happened last week. and not really sure who was skipped. but i know some were. and i’m sorry for that. we don’t often have casualties in WWs, but last week just got crazy. and i mean CRAZY.

TheNorEaster, following SharonMac in the ruination of Tam‘s plan to leave the last question, finished with a question that has had me thinking ALL week: What is the difference between a girl, a woman, and a lady?

i finally gave up thinking and just checked dictionary.com:

  • GIRL:
    1. a female child, from birth to full growth.
    2. a young, immature woman, esp. formerly, an unmarried one.
  • WOMAN:
    1. the female human being (distinguished from man).
    2. an adult female person.
  • LADY:
    1. a woman who is refined, polite, and well-spoken: She may be poor and have little education, but she’s a real lady.
    2. a woman of high social position or economic class: She was born a lady and found it hard to adjust to her reduced circumstances.

sorry. that’s about the best i can do.

OK! so. what happens here is that we start a string of comments – the pattern follows that you answer the previous question and leave a question for the next commenter. yes, there are casualties along the way, but hopefully we will pick each other up.

got it?

Starter Question: Do you talk to yourself? why or why not?

WW – the last sacrifice – 2.13.08

welcome to whatever wednesday. where we talk about whatever.

last question was from edfromct: What was the last sacrifice you made?

well, its tuesday night, and i’m typing this up for tomorrow morning. the last sacrifice i made was “Be Thou My Vision.” i just got out of a worship planning meeting with my pastor, where i often have to set aside my “personal” worship desires for the greater good of the congregation – its no big deal – i’ve come to expect it. honestly, there aren’t a ton of songs that we do each week that i’m dying to get to. but worship is NOT about me, right?  this week we chopped “Be Thou My Vision” because it wouldn’t fit the overall theme/goal of the service. but, that’s ok. when i’m leading worship, i hardly think about what I want or what I need… my focus is on the congregation. so, i want what’s best for them. happens every Sunday – serving them is my offering to the Lord… my SACRIFICE of praise.

whew! enough of that. alrighty, starter question: are you following any of the compassion bloggers? if so, which one(s)? what do you think of all that?

oh yeah. those dang rules: first commenter answers my “starter” question, then you answer the last question and leave a new question for the commenter after you. then that commenter will answer your question and leave a new question for the commenter following….. got it? :)   don’t worry if you mess up. we’ll take care of you. we’re nice people!
